Raise your hand if you’re a big fan of brunch menu! Nomz Kitchen and Pastry at Grand Indonesia has recently launched a series of weekend brunch menu available every Saturday from 10am till 2pm.
I always love the idea of brunch especially on weekend, waking up late and then leisurely enjoying tasty breakfast menu, it’s one of my favorite activities to do in Australia. Brunch and breakfast scene in Jakarta is not as lively as Australia yet, there are quite limited of options for weekend brunch in Jakarta, gladly now it’s available in Nomz and let me tell you, the brunch dishes are so goooood! I’m gonna show you some of the dishes we tried.
Big Breakfast IDR 90k
A classic and satisfying option with a lil bit of everything from bacon, chicken sausage, roasted tomato, sauteed mushroom, egg of your choice and bread. Every single item was cooked nicely, juicy meaty sausage, soft fluffy scrambled egg, flavorful and juicy sauteed mushroom, caramelized roasted tomato and crunchy toasted buttered bread.
Waffle and Chinese Lapchiong Sausage IDR 110k
Waffle and Sausage dish is available in two version of sausages, Chinese Pork Lapchiong Sausage for IDR 110k or Chicken Sausage for IDR 80k, the sausage is served with waffle, sunny-side-up eggs, roasted tomato, salsa verde. The waffle was very enjoyable, it was soft, fluffy and pillowy, eggs were perfectly fried and the lapchiong sausage we tried was nicely grilled with a lovely char-grilled aroma.
Fritata of the Day IDR 65k
This dish consists of homebaked egg omelette, shaved parmesan, sauteed mushroom with a side of salad. It was a simple and satisfying dish, the egg omelette has addition of spinach and potato.
Turkish Egg IDR 55k
For more unique and lighter option, you can try Turkish Egg that consists of poached eggs, yoghurt, paprika butter, salsa verde and bread, it has a light and tangy taste from the use of yoghurt.
Bacon Waffle IDR 65k
This is A KILLER COMBINATION!! Waffle, grilled bacon and maple peanut butter sauce. Soft and fluffy waffle with crispy crunchy bacon complemented by maple peanut butter sauce that has a rich tasty sweet savory combination. Just soooo good!
Mushroom and Sausage IDR 95k
Chicken sausage, mushroom, roasted tomato, onsen egg and bread, it looks simple but it tasted very delicious. Juicy meaty sausage with juicy mushroom were sauteed nicely with caramelized flavorful seasoning, the onsen egg’s golden egg yolk also played a great part in making this dish more rich.
Beef Shashuka IDR 120k
Another favorite menu, I’m always a big fan of baked beans, but I dislike the normal boring canned baked beans and this one was exceptional, the baked beans were cooked in rich tomato sauce with the addition of beef sausage, feta cheese crumble, eggs, coriander and bread, it was flavorful, rich and far from boring, love the addition of juicy beef sausage in it.
Miso Cured Salmon IDR 120k
A rather uncommon dish for brunch in a good way though, toasted salmon with onsen egg, bread, lime mayo and furikake. Salmon was silky smooth and tender, major love for the savory addition from the furikake on top of the golden onsen egg.
Salted Egg Yolk Lava Croissant IDR 30k // Peanut Butter & Jelly Lava Croissant IDR 30k
Other than the Saturday brunch menu, AnakJajan also tried Nomz’s newest creation, the highly raved Lava Croissant, available in three flavors Salted Egg Yolk, Peanut Butter & Jelly and Ovomomo, the croissant is available daily made by order from 12pm.
AnakJajan tried two flavors, Salted Egg Yolk and Peanut Butter & Jelly, the croissant was crunchy, flaky buttery while soft inside with hot melting filling. Both flavors were equally delicious but the Salted Egg Yolk lava was more addicting for me personally with its rich salty and sweet flavor combination.
Overall, Saturday brunch dishes at Nomz tasted pretty delicious and satisfying, it did a great job in fulfilling our crave for tasty brunch, AnakJajan must say that the brunch dishes are highly recommended to try. Let’s Jajan!
