Hello Sahabat Jajan, remember our last visit to Holyduck PIK last year? The casual Balinese restaurant located at the same building as Holywings PIK has launched a series of new menu recently to offer more complete option for their customers.
The new menu launched in early March 2017 consists of appetizer, soup, and rice dishes. In this post, AnakJajan are going to share with you some of the new menu along with the signature items that cannot be missed when in Holyduck.
Sup Ayam Sedap Malam IDR 45k
Having a lot of family visitors, Holyduck added Sup Ayam Sedap Malam to their menu as a comfortable dish that can be enjoyed by everyone including children. It’s a chicken and vegetable soup dish served in huge portion for sharing, the broth was indeed very comfortable and delightful.
Sup Ayam Garang Asam IDR 57.5k
Half chicken cooked in spicy and sour soup, it’s spicy and delicious. The use of your tomatoes gave the soup a very interesting and enjoyable refreshing acidity. Love it!
Tum Ayam Bali IDR 35k
For starter, AnakJajan had the new Tum Ayam Bali, chicken breast covered with spices and shredded coconut then wrapped in banana leaves and steamed until cooked. The chicken was full of flavor with all those seasoning fully absorbed into it nicely, it would be perfect if it can be a bit more tender.
Nasi Campur Merah Bedugul IDR 58k
This new mixed rice dish consists of rice (brown or white), “gulai ijo” duck, tempe “orek”, duck “lawar”, “sate lilit”, crackers and Balinese “sambal matah”. By default, they will serve the rice dish with brown rice but if you prefer white rice, you can simply ask them to change it.
The duck was extremely tender, rich, savory and it didn’t have any unpleasant smell. All ingredients were complementing each other resulting a very festive combo of texture and flavor, it’s a great option for quick and satisfying lunch.
Nasi Campur Bali IDR 52k
If you prefer chicken than duck, they also have chicken version of mixed rice dish. All of the condiments are similar only they change the duck with Betutu Chicken. The betutu chicken was tender, savory with subtle spicy taste. For extra flavor they add Serundeng or Indonesian spicy fried coconut flakes, it goes really well with rice.
Sate Bebek Gilimanuk IDR 35k
A unique signature dish that is simply a must order when you’re in Holyduck, satay or grilled skewer using duck meat. The duck meat was nicely grilled with nice charred aroma, then seasoning was also spot on, sweet and savory altogether, don’t forget to enjoy it with the Balinese “Sambal Matah” and “Sambal Kecap” condiments for extra flavor kick.
Ayam Goreng Penyet IDR 72k
FYI, if you don’t fancy duck, there are plenty of chicken dishes too in Holyduck for example this one, Ayam Goreng Penyet or deep fried chicken smothered with chili sauce and then served with steamed rice, “plecing kangkung”, “sambal matah”, and “sambal goreng. Once again, the portion is satisfyingly huge!
Signature Crispy Duck IDR 88k
One dish that you simply cannot miss having in Holyduck is the Signature Crispy Duck. The crispy duck is extremely addictive with the savory taste and crispy texture on the outside while tender on the inside, it’s deep fried nicely and not greasy at all, served with 3 spicy chili condiments. One of the BEST in town we must say and the price is also very reasonable compared to other places in my opinion.
Overall, reasonable pricing, huge portion and great flavor, Holyduck is still one of a few places in Pantai Indah Kapuk area for great Balinese cuisine especially for the Balinese Crispy Duck.

Located on the 1st level, Jia Dining brings a new and fresh concept of Chinese restaurant to replace the previous Shang Palace. The contemporary Chinese-inspired interior is quite impressive AnakJajan got to say, unlike any other Chinese restaurant with old traditional vibes, Jia combines both traditional and modern concept with the interesting use of brick walls and exquisite wooden panel making it suitable yet enjoyable both for young and old generations.
Talking about the food, you can find wide variety of classic Chinese dishes like Dim Dum, Appetizer, Soup, Noodle, Rice, Pork/ Lamb/ Beef/ Seafood/ Poultry/ Live Seafood/ Vegetable/ Beancurd dishes, Vegetarian and Sweet Dessert.
The signature dishes include Peking-style Roasted Duck, homemade Dim Dum, homemade La Mian noodle and Chinese barbecued items like Crispy Roast Suckling Pig. As for the pricing, it’s pretty reasonable ranging from IDR 28k to IDR 398k. Let’s take a look at some of the signature dishes.
Steamed Soup Pork Dumpling IDR 32k // Steamed Beancurd Rolls in Oyster Sauce IDR 28k
Here you can find many options of steamed, pan fried, deep fried and baked dim sum. One of the classic one that AnakJajan simply cannot miss is Xiao Long Bao or dumpling with thin skin and juicy broth filling. Here in Jia the presentation is very interesting yet photogenic, it tastes nice as well with comforting savory pork broth and minced pork filling. The beancurd rolls is also nicely executed with generous filling and thick savory gravy with subtle hint of sweetness.
Steamed Rice Roll with Crispy Shrimp IDR 32k
AnakJajan have visited Jia twice and their Steamed Rice Roll or Cheong Fan with Crispy Shrimp keeps us coming back for more. The rice roll is thin, soft yet elastic while shrimp filling in the middle is crispy, don’t forget to pour the soy-based sauce for extra savory kick.
Steamed Pork Siew Mai topped with Abalone IDR 298k
Jia certainly brings dim sum to another level, besides the normal dimsum, here you can also find premium version of dimsum made by using premium ingredients like abalone, bird’s nest, and even foie gras. Such a festive treats!!
Steamed Custard Buns with Salted Egg Yolk IDR 32k
One of the best selling dimsum is non other than the cute looking steamed custard buns with salted egg yolk filling. The bun is soft yet fluffy and then complemented with rich buttery sweet yet salty salted egg yolk filling, it’s a delightful combo indeed.
Crispy Beef in Honey Sauce IDR 58k
One of the dishes in Jia that me and Mr. Jajan simply have to order is the signature Crispy Beef in Honey Sauce. The thin yet uber crispy beef is seriously super addictive, you won’t be able to stop after the first bite trust me 😀
Crispy Roasted Pork IDR 98k
Another favorite one, savory roasted pork with crispy skin served two sauces, I think it’s hoisin sauce and mustard sauce. It’s such a pleasure in each bite, love the fact that the pork is tender and it doesn’t have any unpleasant pork smell.
Lan Zhou La Mian Noodle Soup with Beef Shank IDR 68k // Sichuan Dandan La Mian Noodle Soup with Pork IDR 68k // La Mian Noodle with Minced Pork and Mushroom IDR 58k
Homemade la mian is another Jia’s specialty, basically for the noodle you can choose the type of noodle that you want, there are 5 options carrot/ carbon black/ egg/ betroot/ spinach noodle.
The noodle has a nice springy texture and we’re quite happy with the taste especially the Beef Shank Noodle Soup, the beef shank is sooo tender, while the soup tastes very comforting, enjoyable and full of umami.
Ipoh Special Two Salted Fish Fried Rice IDR 88k
I don’t know why but fried rice in Chinese restaurant always tastes yummy with delightful aroma, perhaps from the use of wok-fry. For the fried rice menu, the most recommended one in Jia would be their Ipoh Special Two Salted Fish Fried Rice, imagine aromatic wok-fry savory fried rice with bits of salted fish in each spoonful.
Deep Fried Swan with Almond Sauce IDR 32k // Chilled Mango Pudding IDR 45k
For a sweet ending, AnakJajan had several items, all of them are served in a nice presentation especially the cute looking Deep Fried Swan with Almond Sauce. Our most favorite item would be the Mango and Passion Fruit Charlotte with Coconut Ice Cream IDR 45k, not only it looks good, it tastes good as well.

The jiggly texture and fruity tangy sweet Mango and Passion Fruit Charlotte paired nicely with light coconut-based ice cream. Da yum!
Overall, Jia Dining is certainly a nice and fresh addition to the restaurant scene in Jakarta especially for the Chinese food scene with the classic dishes with unique twist, traditional yet modern decor not to mention great tasting dishes. It’s perfect both for young group or family.
