Restaurant with nostalgic memories but new interesting concept, meet the new concept of Platinum Resto & Cafe called PLATINUM GRILL (Sunter Mall, AEON Mall JGC & Mall Kelapa Gading) now with hotplate concept serving cuisine from all around the world: Japan, Thailand, Korea, China, US and Indonesia.

Saikoro Beef Steak IDR 54,545 (IDR 59,091 with rice)

This blogpost is a throwback post from our visit to Platinum Grill a few months ago. It was one of a few restaurants we visited before doing quarantine. We visited their first outlet with new concept at Sunter Mall, now you can find Platinum’s new concept at AEON Mall JGC & Mall Kelapa Gading too. Besides dine-in, their menu is also available for delivery, yazz!!

The new concept focuses on hotplate dishes with flavors from all around the world like Japan, Thailand, Korea, China, US and Indonesia. Yesss you can expect to find varous dishes like Indonesian Grilled Fish, Japanese Pepper Rice or even Korean Bibimbap served in sizzling hotplate.

Of course since Platinum restaurant has so many memorable and nostalgic dishes that their customers enjoy (including us), gladly they keep some of the best selling and favorite menu such as Combo Teppanyaki, Crispy Chicken Butter, etc. Oooyeyy!!!

Here are some of the new menu for your reference:

Bibimbap Grill IDR 36,364
First impression, HUGE HUGE PORTION! Yes, you’ll be surprised by all the hotplate rice dish here, they’re totally not joking when it comes to generous rice portion.

Double Beef & Egg Pepper Rice IDR 42,727
One of the signature Japanese menu here withminced and slice beef plus egg, topped with corn and spring onion. It’s served on top of sizzling hotplate, so make sure to immediately mix everything well for nice fried rice sensation. Considering the portion, AnakJajan gotta say that the menu here is very reasonably priced, their pepper rice also tastes enjoyable, peppery savory tasty.

Oh one important thing you shouldn’t miss is their amazing HONEY GARLIC SOY SAUCE!!! Yesss besides pepper and salt, make sure to add this delicious sauce to your hotplate (most recommended with Japanese hotplate menu). The sauce has nice savory sweet flavor with hint of garlicky aroma, it elevates the dish into another level!

Spicy Beef Fried Rice IDR 35,455
Their Spicy Beef Fried Rice has Chinese Mala influence. For Mala lovers like us, the Mala flavor is actually quite subtle, you’ll get nice hint of spicy taste but not too much. Well overall quite decent, we’re sure it’s a more enjoyable version for most customers who prefer subtle mala taste.

Grilled Fish Sambal Matah IDR 57,273 (IDR 61,818 with rice)
For Indonesian flavor, they have grilled fish topped with sambal matah. Let it sizzle a while until brownish, you’ll get nicely charred grilled fish.

If we have to pick one top fav for hotplate menu, this has gotta be THE ONE! It tastes ahmazingly delicious, the good flavors fully absorbed into the fish, savory salty spicy packed with complex Indonesian flavors. 100% recommended!

Combo Teppanyaki IDR 37,273 (with rice)
I remember it clearly, when we were university student, this menu was one of Mr. Jajan’s favs back then. The taste still remains the same, savory with hint of sweet flavor from the sauce perfect with a cup of rice.

Crispy Chicken Butter Sauce IDR 31,818 with rice / IDR 33,636 with garlic butter rice
As for me, this menu was one of my top favs when I was university student. I just love the combination between crispy chicken with sweet glazy butter sauce plus tofu and veggie as well. Dayum!!

Tom Yum Steamboat Set IDR 46,364
Another nostalgic menu is their steamboat and it is still available. It comes with 3 options: Tom Yum, Original and Oxtail Soup set with rice.

As time went by, things changed. While Platinum restaurant has strong nostalgic value, we are genuinely happy to see the transformation into newer and more fresh concept, soon more Platinum’s outlet will be transformed into new Platinum Grill concept. Overall, reasonably priced, great variety of options, huge generous portion, what’s there not to love?
