When it comes to favorite place for ramen, Menya Sakura Ramen has been one of our personal favorites, we enjoy their ramen especially the Tsukemen or dip ramen.
As we all know, Ramen is a popular Japanese noodle dish with various toppings and flavors. Menya Sakura Ramen is originated from Nagoya – Japan, the outlets in Indonesia have been operating since 2013 and they have recently launched new ramen dishes.

AnakJajan visited Menya Sakura’s outlet in Emporium Mall Pluit, it is located on the 4th floor. The restaurant has a unique vintage old ramen stall design with nostalgic old posters on the wall. Other than Emporium Mall outlet, Menya Sakura Ramen’s other outlets are located at Lotte Shopping Avenue Jakarta, Gandaria City Jakarta and Paragon Solo.
Grilled Pork Char-shu IDR 50k
Torch-grilled pork char-shu with onion slices, spring onions and chili. It is one of the most popular side dishes here, me and Mr. Jajan always order it every time because we love it so much! Tender pork char-shu slices with nice torch-grilled aroma in it, there’s no way we could say no to this porky goodness!

Grilled Gyoza Pork IDR 35k
Minced pork wrapped in thin gyoza skin served with savory and tangy dipping sauce. Chicken version is also available for IDR 30k.

Tonkotsu Vegetable Potage Tsukemen Special IDR 94k
As we said earlier, we love Menya Sakura’s Tsukemen or Dip Ramen, it is one of the best in Jakarta for us personally and we couldn’t be more happier to find out that they have recently launched new Tonkotsu or pork-based Tsukemen, Tonkotsu Vegetable Potage Tsukemen.

Tonkotsu Vegetable Potage Tsukemen Special IDR 94k

Specially for Tsukemen, they use thick noodle so it requires longer cooking time (8 minutes) for the best result. The noodle was very springy, bouncy and chewy in a good way, the ramen topped with menma or simmered bamboo shoots, an egg, nori seaweed and pork char-shu slices toppings.
Compared to the previous chicken-based tsukemen broth, this new pork-based broth is very special indeed!! It has become our favorite number 1 dish in Menya Sakura, the broth has a thick consistency, full of pork taste, rich flavorful yet not too heavy at the same time thanks to the use of their secret ingredient which is apple puree or juice, it complements and balances the heaviness of pork broth nicely, highly recommended!!
FYI, smaller portion is available for IDR 69k, if you need more noodle, additional noodle is also available for order. Since Tsukemen is dipping noodle, the right way to eat it is by dipping the noodle into the soup and then slurp it directly.
Spicy Kucai Mazesoba IDR 60k
Another new menu, a unique one, Spicy Kucai Mazesoba. Dry ramen noodle served with various toppings, seaweed nori, green onions, bean sprouts, chives, spicy minced meat and a bowl of soup.

There is a special way to enjoy this dish, first is by mixing all of the toppings and noodle well, then eat the noodle and sip the soup in each mouthful. This dry soupless ramen dish has a very different, new and unique taste, it tasted pretty good with spicy and savory flavors.

Overall, AnakJajan had another satisfying meal at Menya Sakura Ramen, both new ramen dishes are unique and recommended. Menya Sakura is definitely one of the recommended places for ramen in Jakarta. Specially for the Tsukemen, AnakJajan must say their Tsukemen is one of the best in town. Let’s Jajan!!
