EPIGASTRO – Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Jakarta

Following healthy lifestyle trend, it’s about time to have new places that offer healthy food in Jakarta. Epigastro Kitchen, Juice Bar and Grocer is one of the new additions in Pantai Indah Kapuk area with healthy food restaurant concept and healthy food ingredients grocer.

Compared to South Jakarta, North Jakarta especially Pantai Indah Kapuk is a bit behind on healthy eating place but it’s better late than never rite? 🙂

Epigastro in PIK is located at the same row with Tambak Bayan, the spacious building combines Epigastro restaurant and Epitome lifestyle gym in one roof. The restaurant’s interior is very chic, modern and pretty with lots of natural lights using glass walls, rattan chairs and green plants resulting a very nice and bright space perfect for taking OOTD photos 😀

Epigastro combines local and western cuisine where other than normal dish, you can also find healthier version of food such as Indonesian Gado-Gado with organic ingredients, smoothie/ energy bowl, zucchini spaghetti, etc. AnakJajan and friends only ordered few of light dishes since we had dinner appointment at other place.

Cold Pressed Juice IDR 45k
For drink, we ordered their Cold Pressed Juice, What’s Up Doc, Popeye and Rocket Fuel. AnakJajan must say that Epigastro did a great job in combining the ingredients for the cold pressed juice because it was refreshing, enjoyable and well-balanced.

Smoked Salmon Salad IDR 80k
The salad consists of smoked salmon, organic black rice balls, avocado, orange, lettuce and pomegranate dressing. Overall it was a delicious salad, all ingredients were complementing each other nicely with sweet, sour and refreshing dressing, taste wise it was nice, but portion wise it was kinda small.

Salmon Poke IDR 90k
Cubes of fresh Norwegian salmon with soy sauce, ginger, chili flakes and black tortilla chips. The salmon poke was fresh and seasoned nicely but it could be better if they add a bit of tangy taste from lemon/ lime juice. And again, the portion could be slightly bigger compared to the price.

Acai Bliss IDR 75k
There are two options of smoothie or energy bowl, Pitaya or Acai, AnakJajan opted for Acai Bliss consists of acai berry puree, mixed berries, banana, almond milk, honey topped with banana, strawberry, sun flower seeds, homemade granola and toasted coconut flakes. It was decent but not memorable.

Overall, nice place and nice concept, in terms of taste the food was pretty decent only the portion was kinda too small compared to the price, perhaps they’re aiming for ‘makan cantik’ concept lols. Let’s Jajan!!
