Finally the wait is over!! The famous Ippudo Ramen is finally open in Jakarta Indonesia at Pacific Place Mall Level 5.
Ippudo is a Hakata-style tonkotsu (pork-based) ramen from Japan that was founded in 1985. They have more than 80 stores in Japan and more than 40 stores worldwide including London, New York, Sydney, Hong Kong, China, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea and finally Indonesia. Shigemi Kawahara the founder of Ippudo ramen was crowned as Ramen King in 2005 and won 3 championships on TV Champion for Ramen Chef edition, pretty impressive isn’t it??
Located at the 5th floor of Pacific Place Mall behind Shaburi and Kintan, the restaurant is quite spacious with posh stylish interior and huge chandeliers hanging inside the restaurant with bowls hanging on the wall.
So basically a while ago AnakJajan and foodie friend are getting excited when we saw the coming soon sign at Pacific Place and we know that this is gonna be such a huge hit because Ippudo is really famous.
Today when AnakJajan saw the post from Pacific Place Mall’s instagram that Ippudo is open starting today, me and Mr. Jajan decided to have our dinner here. And after having our dinner, while having dessert at Pannacota Etc we decided to write this post immediately for you because lot’s of you have been waiting for this kind of news.
Now u don’t need to go to Singapore or Japan anymore to have a bowl of Ippudo’s Ramen, not to mention a bowl of ramen at Ippudo Singapore cost a lot more (around SGD 24 per bowl), at Jakarta it only cost you around IDR 68k- IDR 95k per bowl.
Ippudo offers springy ultra thin straight noodle with 4 types of noodle hardness type: Soft / Normal / Hard / Very Hard. AnakJajan chose Normal type with a firm texture, you can try the Hard one to get more al dente texture of the noodle.
Ippudo’s ramen soup is a Tonkotsu broth that takes more than 15 hours to cook to extract the essence of the broth resulting clean, comfort and milky and not too heavy kind of soup.
Roiboos Tea IDR 20k, Green Tea IDR 15k
Pork Bun IDR 28k
Besides pork, they have chicken or ebi (prawn) katsu bun also but of course AnakJajan couldn’t resist the temptation to order the pork one. The bun was fluffy with a lil bit sweetness in it filled with juicy pork belly, lettuce and Ippudo special creamy and tangy sauce. Very good!
Shiromaru Motoaji Special IDR 90k
This one is their signature flavor of ramen. Ippudo’s original tonkotsu broth served with ultra thin noodles, pork loin, bean sprouts, kikurage & spring onions. There are 4 kinds of selection of Shiromaru Motoaji ramen, IDR 68k for original, IDR 76k with Tamago, IDR 83k with Chashu and IDR 90k special with Tamago and Chashu.
One thing that disappointing is to see the plain white color soft boiled egg, the egg is supposed to be in brownish color due to the marination, but luckily the egg was perfectly cooked though.
Akamaru Shinaji Special IDR 95k
Ippudo’s original tonkotsu broth enhanced with special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil served with thin noodles, pork belly, kikurage, spring onions, bean sprouts with salted soft-boiled egg, shimmered pork belly & seaweed.
If you order the ramen only without any addition it costs IDR 73k, with tamago IDR 81k, with chashu IDR 88k or for greedy person just like us with Tamago and Chashu (Special) IDR 95k.
Akamaru was slightly sweeter and spicier than Shiromaru one. Mr. Jajan loves this one while me myself prefer the original Shiromaru with lighter and more comfort taste.
Overall, the ramen at Ippudo was nice, the service itself was fast, prompt and flawless even though it was their 1st day of opening. Looking forward for another visit. Let’s Jajan!!

This is actually one of the specialty and difference of Ippudo. Others marinate the egg with shoyu, that’s why it is brownish, but we marinate it with salt…that’s why it is in white colour…we want to be different from others Japs Ramen Restaurant.
