Unlike Japanese food, when it comes to Italian food there were not quite enough number of restaurants in Jakarta serving it. But luckily recently there are several new Italian restaurants opened in town and Ristorante Da Valentino is one of the latest ones.
Ristorante Da Valentino is an Italian fine dining restaurant from Singapore serving authentic Italian cuisine using Chef Valentino’s family recipe. Located at 11st floor of MD Place at the same building with Akira Back, the ristorante has two main areas, lounge and restaurant area.
The interior is very fancy and elegant with dark railings, brick walls, gray tablecloth and red chairs. We just love the classic Italian music played there giving a relaxing intimate ambiance for the guest.
Burrata IDR 395k
This menu is quite limited because they hand carry limited amount of Burrata from Puglia, South Italy regularly. Burrata is a soft creamy cheese and can rarely be found in Jakarta. AnakJajan had tried Burrata a few times and so far Valentino’s Burrata cheese was the best! The texture was really nice, soft juicy creamy yet very light at the same time served with sweet and tangy cheery tomatoes, greens, and balsamic vinegar caviar.
Pizza Bismark IDR 195k
This thin Italian handmade pizza was very unique because they added soft half cooked eggs as the topping along with crispy bacon. The dough was thin with crunchy crust while the eggs were cooked nicely with soft melting egg yolk.
Fettuccine al Granchio IDR 295k
Here at Valentino you can find various homemade pasta and one the best selling menu is Fettuccine al Granchio, squid ink fettuccine with crab meat in creamy tomato sauce. The homemade squid ink fettuccine was lovely and cooked nicely al dente while the sauce was balanced in terms of creaminess and tanginess.
Osso Buco IDR 450k
Traditional braised veal shank served with baby potatoes. The meat was very tender we can easily cut it using spoon or fork as for the seasoning was very savory, bold and rich it kinda reminded us with Indonesian rendang.
As for dessert, AnakJajan had Tiramisu one of the most popular coffee-flavored desserts from Italy made of ladyfingers dipped in coffee, layered with mascarpone cheese mixture. The tiramisu was very light with the right amount of sweetness and moisture but unfortunately it was lack of coffee flavor, this could be a perfect tiramisu if only they added more coffee flavor in it.
Overall we just love how bold and rich the Italian food here at Valentino, the price is quite reasonable compared to the quality of the food. Let’s Jajan!!
