Saung Layaran is one of the newest additions to the food scene in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Jakarta. The concept of Saung Layaran is family seafood restaurant which is a great addition to one of the biggest family vacation spot in Jakarta, Ancol.
The family restaurant has an interesting concept of interior using the traditional Sundanese hut or “gubug” floating over pond complete with traditional Indonesian instrumental music. Imagine having a meal there accompanied by gurgling sound of water and soft breeze, isn’t it a perfect place to escape from the bustle of city??
Saung Layaran serves wide variety of seafood dishes both live and fresh seafood where they incorporate both Chinese and Indonesian especially Sundanese flavors into their cooking. Specially on weekend morning, the restaurant also offer Dimsum for breakfast and for group, Saung Layaran offers group packages for 2 until 10 people.

For hot afternoon, Mojito Leci or Lychee Mojito could be a great thirst quencher with refreshing combination of lychee, mint and soda fizz, while for creamy option, milky Milkshake Pulpy Oreo could be an option.
Es Cendol is a traditional Indonesian dessert with coconut milk, brown sugar and various ingredients. AnakJajan personally enjoyed the Es Cendol in Saung Layaran, it was a festive bowl of ice dessert with tape or fermented cassava, jackfruit, basil seeds, red bean and cendol with perfect level of sweetness.
Sop Segara IDR 95.5K
Seafood soup served uniquely in a coconut, the soup was savory, sweet and sour with hint of spicy flavors with fresh prawns, squid, seaweed, etc. It was an enjoyable soup dish with unique presentation, the best part of the soup is you can scrape the coconut flesh and eat it together with the soup.
Ayam 2 Rasa IDR 81.5K
This dish was Mr. Jajan’s favorite, deep fried chicken served with hoisin sauce and “rujak” chicken, it’s a unique twist of Indonesian and Chinese flavors in one plate. The “rujak” chicken was very addictive with spicy and hint of tangy flavors, chicken was diced and mix thoroughly with cucumber, tomato, shallot and “rujak” seasoning, love the addition of cucumber that gave a nice crunch texture.

Dori Quiker Renyah Telur Asin IDR 86.5K
Dori fish breaded with crunchy cereal deep fried until golden and then served with salted egg yolk sauce. The new menu was my favorite, dori fish was cooked nicely with amazing crunch texture from the cereal, major love for the salted egg yolk sauce with hint of spicy flavors and curry leaves aroma.
