Earlier this week, AnakJajan had a privilege to try the food before it opens for public on 8th August 2017 so we can give you all the first look of their food. Let’s take a look at some of the signature dishes:

Lunpia Goreng IDR 35k
Typical Semarang deep fried spring rolls filled with bamboo shoot and served with green chili and pickles. Gotta love the bamboo shoot filling, it’s nicely cooked without any unpleasant smell typical bamboo shoot so it’s more enjoyable.

Rujak Juhi IDR 45k
Traditional Indonesian style salad consists of juhi or dried squid, veggie, egg noodle, deep fried tofu, and melinjo or belinjo nuts crackers drilled with peanut-based sweet and sour sauce. It’s one of the traditional Indonesian dishes we love that is quite hard to find nowadays, glad that it’s available in GOPEK, it tastes refreshing and very appetizing.
Es Dawet Ayu IDR 38k
Nangka, dawet, bubur taro, tape singkong, tape ketan hitam, bengkoang selasih

Kacang merah, kacang wedang, kacang hijau kupas, sarang burung, biji teratai, kolang kaling, selasih

Bakso Sengkel IDR 52k

Bakwan Bakso IDR 52k + Bihun IDR 9k
There are 4 types of Bakwan available; Campur, Bakso, Sengkel, or Buntut. The most signature one would be Bakwan Balso with festive ingredients; Bakwan, Bakso Gulung, Bakso Tahu Goreng, Bakso Goreng, Siomay, Bakso Sapi, & Bakso Ayam, you can order noodle or rice noodle with additional IDR 9k.

Anakjajan tried the oxtail version or Bakwan Buntut IDR 67k with Bakwan, Bakso Gulung, Bakso Tahu Goreng, Bakso Goreng, Siomay, & Buntut. The soup is very savory with all festive ingredients where each ingredients has its own distinctive taste and texture, gotta love the tender texture from the oxtail.

Mie Bakso Pangsit IDR 65k
Classic Indonesian dry noodle dish topped with chicken, bean sprout, vegetable and served with deep fried wontons and soup with chicken meatball & beef meatball.

The noodle is springy, it has a mild taste, for us personally it tastes better and more flavorful with chili sauce added into it.

Nasi Gopek Special IDR 47k
Sapi madu, ayam merah, ngohiong, sate sapi, telur pindang, semur sapi
Finally a Halal version of Chinese-style mixed rice that everyone can enjoy since it uses beef and chicken only.

Jus Tebu Barley Lemon IDR 30k
Me and Mr. Jajan always love sugarcane drink, it’s classic and nostalgic. Here in GOPEK, they bring the sugarcane drink in to the next level by adding lemon and barley. It’s refreshingly delicious!!

Overall, GOPEK is an exciting addition to the culinary scene in Indonesia, double thumbs up for Sarirasa group for their continuous support for Indonesian cuisine. The restaurant is cozy and it can be a quick and casual place for Indonesian comfort food cravings fixed.
