Quick escape from hustle of busy city life is much needed once in a while. Not too far from Jakarta, we got you a nice recommendation Finch Coffee & Kitchen at Taman Budaya, Sentul City, Bogor.

Heard good reviews about this place from our friends, me and Mr. Jajan decided to visit Finch in Sentul. It is a new cafe managed by Six Ounces, one of our favorite places for coffee and brunch in Kelapa Gading area so we have pretty high expectation.

Located in Taman Budaya area, you can easily spot Finch’s catchy building with lots of windows and brick walls. The use of huge windows is a clever idea since it’s surrounded by lots of trees, we can enjoy nice green views from inside the cafe.

Serving both Asian & Western dishes, we can see some similarity of Finch’s dishes with Six Ounces. Let’s take a closer look of the food.

Hot Cappuccino IDR 32k
Since Finch is managed by Six Ounces, we have high hopes for their coffee and we can simply say that Finch nailed their coffee nicely. Great consistency, nice balance, lovely cup of cappuccino indeed.

Avocado Coffee IDR 45k, Iced Lychee Tea IDR 30k
Surprisingly the avocado coffee came in huge glass! The rich, creamy smooth avocado juice with ice cream, chocolate sauce and coffee was surely worth the price haha.

French Fries + Bolognese sauce IDR 45k, Mini Bacon Cheese Hashbrown (with cheese sauce) IDR 55k
Both snacks were cooked beautifully with nice golden crunchy texture and well balanced sauce. Tasty yet addictive snacks that simply cannot go wrong.

Summer Salad IDR 60k
We started the meal with something fresh first. The salad came with mixed mesclun, tomato, egg and balsamic dressing. All the ingredients were fresh and we enjoyed the tangy balsamic dressing, however they added too much dressing, it would be perfect with less dressing.

Aglio Olio Spaghetti IDR 65k
The pasta consists of garlic, black olives, grilled chicken and garlic. It has all the good elements we expected, savory, garlicky, tasty and satisfying.

Finch Double Bacon Cheeseburger IDR 75k
The cheese burger looks super tempting isn’t it? Glad we decided to have one. It has double beef patty, cheddar slice, beef bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, secret sauce & fries. The bun was very soft and fluffy (definitely plus point) while the patty was also juicy tender. It was a tad under seasoned for Mr. Jajan, but for me it was perfect though.

Kampoeng Fried Rice IDR 65k
Simple looking dish but surprisingly it turned out to be Mr. Jajan’s top fav since it was well executed. The rice has well balanced seasoning with nice wok aroma paired with tasty chicken satay. Try to enjoy the fried rice with peanut sauce with chicken satay for delicious nutty sensation.

Overall, good food, good coffee, calm relaxing vibes, nice green surrounding, we’re impressed! Finch Coffee & Kitchen makes a great option if you’re in Sentul/ Bogor area, or even if you need a quick escape from Jakarta.
