Introducing new concept by WSB Group (sister company of Warung Wakaka), Mama(m) – Indonesian mom’s dishes located in Muara Karang area.

Karedok IDR 25k, Bubur Ayam Mamam IDR 25k, Tempe Mendoan (4pcs) IDR 18k

Mamam is located around 15m from Warung Wakaka Muara Karang. The restaurant focuses on traditional Indonesian dishes therefore you can expect to find classic Indonesian food such as sambal, pepes, bubur, jajanan pasar, gorengan, ayam bakakak, etc. The kind of food we won’t get bored with. One major thing that AnakJajan notice from Mamam is the price, compared to other places, the pricing is much cheaper and really reasonable.

AnakJajan got the chance to visit the restaurant before opening so please take note that the presentation and taste from some items might be different since they’re still doing some adjustments and improvements.

The restaurant is very spacious with warm vibes from the use of rattan, brick walls, green plants resulting nice combination between modern and traditional vibes. AnakJajan can spot some instagrammable photo backgrounds too.

Ayam Bekakak IDR 88k/ ekor (including Sambal Terasi)
Whole chicken cooked in deep frying process and served with sambal terasi. It tastes palatable, savory and nicely marinated. For extra flavor kick, you can order additional sambal: Sambal Terasi/ Sambal Dadak/ Sambal Mbe/ Sambal Kecap/ Sambal Kecombrang/ Sambal Mangga. Sambal mangga, kecombrang and kecap are our personal favorites.

Sop Buntut IDR 60k
One of the top dishes in Mamam that we can give our stamp of approval. The savory soup is packed with umami and wonderfully fragrant, oxtail meat is also very tender with all the good flavors from the soup fully absorbed into it. Considering the taste and generous portion, IDR 60k is seriously a great deal.

Nasi Goreng Rendang IDR 35k
The fried rice is quite unique with rich combination of spices in it.

Nasi Liwet Besar IDR 50k
It tastes as good as we expected. Fluffy fragrant rice with shallot, anchovies, garlic, galangal, pete, salted egg, etc perfect for sharing up to 4 persons. Love it!

Bihun Goreng Bumbu Kacang IDR 15k
It looks really simple but surprisingly very tasteful, just a simple fried vermicelli drizzled in peanut sauce. The peanut sauce plays a big part in making it delicious, it tastes like pecel peanut sauce. It would be more yummy if they put rempeyek crackers in it, we don’t mind paying more.

Bubur Ayam Mamam IDR 25k
Chicken porridge complete with various toppings. It tastes classic and enjoyable.

Tempe Mendoan (4pcs) IDR 18k
This one needs improvement because the texture is kinda confusing, somewhere between soggy mendoan and crunchy tempe goreng.

Tahu Gejrot Mix IDR 18k
First time trying unique combination between tahu gejrot and cireng. It turns out to be very good, the chewy texture from cireng gives this dish a nice texture contrast.

Tumis Kecipir IDR 20k

Karedok IDR 25k
Gotta admit that Mamam makes a great Karedok. We’re not a big fan of karedok since it uses raw vegetables but we can put this one as an exception. The peanut sauce is just spot on, a bit spicy but very additive.

Rantang Mama(m) IDR 75k
Set of meal including uduk fragrant rice, fried chicken, fritters and sayur asem served in unique presentation. Considering the portion, we gotta say that it’s worth the price.

Cenil IDR 20k | Lupis (4pcs) IDR 20k
It has been a while since the last time we had these nostalgic traditional snacks. It looks nice and tastes legit too.😋

Overall nice concept, while some still need minor improvements, most of the food are already nice and enjoyable, major plus point for Mamam because it comes in affordable price as well. Great range of menu selection, the kind of food we can enjoy daily, definitely will be back for more.
