Having another Japanese restaurant opened in Jakarta always makes me excited just like when we heard that Okirobar has finally opened, we cannot wait to visit this place as quickly as possible.(note: join the giveaway on the bottom of this post)

Okirobar is a Japanese edgy bar by Okirobox. As we all know Okirobox specialized in Japanese snacks such as Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, etc and Okirobox has take it up to another level with their new concept, Okirobar.

Okirobar is located in Grand Indonesia Shopping Town mall 5th floor with catchy pink dog named Benji as their mascot. The shop is very edgy and colorful with quirky yet adorable mural drawing, ornaments and decoration.

In the middle area, there’s a bar where visitors can watch the chefs cook their orders. Some of the table also have personal pan where the food they ordered can be cooked on the table.

Refill (Green tea/Coffee/Tea/Chocolate Milk/Lemon tea) IDR 25k
For refill drink, you can choose and take your own drink from hot/cold coffee, greentea, lemon tea till chocolate milk as much as you want.

Milkshake (Snickers) IDR 55k
This is liquid version of Snickers with creamy rich flavor that screams Snickers in every sip. Perfect drink for milkshake lovers.

Beer Frappe (Strawberry/Lemon/Kiwi Lime) IDR 55k
Love loveee their Beer Frappe, thick fruity blend of beer. AnakJajan had Kiwi Lime Beer Frappe, the beer was light, very fruity and not overly sweet. Will definitely order this drink again on the next visit.

Okonomiyaki – Caramelized Wagyu Hiroshima IDR 159k(M), 219k(L)
Okonomiyaki is Japanese style of pan-fried savory pancake with cabbage inside flour batter where you can have it with various toppings as you like.

Here in Okirobar you can order regular okonomiyaki or add additional toppings as you want, they also serves Okonomiyaki with recommended toppings just like Caramelized Wagyu Hiroshima with caramelized onion beef wagyu, enoki mushtoom, topped with extra egg, crispy beef bacon & soba. The okonomiyaki was served with smoked fish flakes or katsuobushi, scallion and sweet yet savory thick sauce. It was good and overflow with generous toppings. Love how they fried the wagyu until crispy.

Negiyaki – Beef Curry IDR 110k(M), IDR 148k(L)
While Negiyaki is a variation from okonomiyaki where the main ingredient inside the flour batter is spring onion or scallion instead of cabbage. Negiyaki is thinner and does not taste as heavy as okonomiyaki. AnakJajan had Beef Curry Negiyaki with thick Japenese curry sauce and generous amount of melted cheese on top. As for the sauce, they served it separately so you can dip the pancake in it. AnakJajan really enjoyed the tangy and savory flavor of the sauce, it made the pancake even more delicious.

Monjayaki – Walala Monja IDR 173k(M), IDR 250k(L)
Monjayaki is a specialty from Kanto region with more liquid dough than onokomiyaki. Monjayaki in general has a runny thick liquid texture that kinda similar with melted cheese texture, in Japan it usually is eaten directly off from iron grill using small spatula, quite unique isn’t it?

AnakJajan were very excited when we heard that Okirobar also serves Monjayaki because we never found any place that sells this unique menu.

We recommend you to try the Walala Monja with extra spicy kick and crunchy texture. The thick runny monja was served with wagyu beef, mozzarella cheese and crispy noodle just like crispy noodle snacks from our childhood.

Fyi, you can also Build Your Own Okonomiyaki IDR 45k/ Negiyaki IDR 50k/ Monjayaki IDR 50k for more affordable price with 16 additional toppings selection starting from IDR 10k till IDR 30k. So you can have your okonomiyaki/ monjayaki/ negiyaki with your own favorite ingredients combination.

Pancake (Snicker/Redbean) IDR 40k
Thin crepe like batter with snicker filling topped with chocolate sauce and served with green tea ice cream. Besides snicker, they also provides redbean version.

Taiyaki (Redbean/Chocolate/Cheese) IDR 35k
Taiyaki is a fish shaped Japanese cake and here at Okirobar there are three different fillings redbean, chocolate or cheese. The taiyaki was soft and fluffy, AnakJajan personally love chocolate filling the most.

Overall, unlike most of Japanese restaurants in Jakarta, Okirobar has a very unique yet different concept. The interior is very fun and quirky while the food were very unique. Let’s Jajan!!
