Have you visited the part 1 of recommended places to visit in Taiwan? After Taichung and Alishan, in this second part, we will be sharing recommended places we visited in Taipei, Tainan, Chiayi and New Taipei City. Let’s start the tour, shall we?
Just an intermezzo, the name of certain cities in Taiwan resembles its location, for example Taipei ‘pei’ or ‘bei’ means north and Taipei is located at the north area of the island, Taichung ‘chung’ means center and it’s located in the center of island, while Tainan ‘nan’ means south and the city is located at the south area.

CHIAYI
Cypress Forestry Life Village (檜意森活村)/ Hinoki Village

Now it has become a tourist spot filled with some shops of creative cultural works like wooden furniture and food, as well as some small museums.

Spraying of Water Chicken Food (嘉義噴水雞肉飯)
The chicken rice dish might looks simple, but it tastes da bomb! It is a popular and delicious rice dish with turkey strips on it created in 1949.
FYI, here in Taiwan the rice is very fluffy and a bit sticky, pretty similar with Japanese or Korean rice. The signature chicken rice dish consists of fluffy rice topped with tender juicy turkey strips and then drizzled with soy based seasoning and serve with pickled radish. The rice was already sooo good by itself thanks to the use of lard :p
It is so good, you guys seriously have to try it! One of the best meal we’ve ever had during #AnakJajanTAIWAN trip!

Tainan Flowers Night Market (臺南花園夜市)
Taiwan is famous for its night market, in Tainan every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night, you can visit Tainan Flowers Night Market the largest and most popular night market in Tainan.

Compared to Shilin Night Market in Taipei, Tainan Flowers Night Market is actually not that huge but it’s filled with so many tasty looking snacks, from sweet to savory, light bites till heavy meal, AnakJajan had a fun non-stop eating experience.

Our favorite find was the Pepper Bun or Hu Chiao Ping NT$ 40, during our flight from Jakarta to Taipei, we watched a show about night market in Taiwan and we were very tempted with this local delicacy and lucky us it was available at Tainan Flowers Night Market. The pepper bun was very delicious with juicy peppery savory minced meat filling.

Other than food, there are also small section in the market that is filled with souvenir and fashion vendors, along with game vendors.
