CHIR CHIR INDONESIA – Korean Fusion Chicken Factory, PIK, Jakarta

Chir Chir – Korean Fusion Chicken Factory is a restaurant originated from Korea, it is famous for its Korean Fried Chicken with unique fusion twist. The first outlet in Indonesia is located in Pantai Indah Kapuk area.

Last year during our short trip to Singapore, AnakJajan managed to visit Chir Chir’s outlet in 313 Somerset Singapore, it’s very popular in Singapore as the queue could be quite long during dinner time.

Compared to Singapore, the price in Chir Chir Indonesia is much muchhhhh cheaper, you can read our previous blogpost about Chir Chir Singapore to compare the price.

Said to be originated from Korea, we can confirm that fact, during our #AnakJajanKorea visit to Seoul last year, we saw an outlet of Chir Chir in Myeong-dong area.

Chir Chir is located at the same row as the newly opened Wraps & Rolls, right beside Seorae PIK. The exterior of restaurant has a unique shape that resembles the shape of henhouse, maybe that’s why they decorate the restaurant with lots of chicken and egg ornaments.

Garlicky Chicken IDR 159k
This one is a MUST ORDER! The chicken was fried till perfection, dry crispy on the outside while juicy tender on the inside and then seasoned with savory and a bit of sweet garlicky sauce, sooo addicting! Besides the whole chicken, this Garlicky seasoning is also available with tender chicken breast or chicken wings. Our favorite!

Cream Beer Small IDR 69k
Since the best partner for Korean Fried Chicken is beer, we ordered the cream beer since it’s one of their signature drink but it was a sad and bad decision. It tasted very ordinary, literally whipped cream and beer, there was no special taste from the combination not to mention the expensive price.

Nest Snow IDR 159k
This one is one of the signature dishes of Chir Chir, chicken tenders with cajun seasoning, mashed potato cream sauce and fresh whipped cream. The chicken breast itself was delicious, they deep fried it nicely till crunchy yet still juicy tender on the inside. But other than that, the cream sauce and mashed potato were a bit boring as it was a bit bland and need more seasoning.

One unique and cute factor from Chir Chir is they provide cute chicken feet shaped metal clamp for the customer to hold the chicken so we can keep our hands clean.

Kkanpung king IDR 149k
Fried boneless chicken with tteok rice cake and sweet potato in spicy sweet sauce served with cream dipping sauce. It tasted pretty nice, but it was sooooo oily and greasy.

Cheese fries IDR 69k
One important fact, as you can see from pictures above, most dishes in Chir Chir come in HUGE portion! We underestimated the size of the food, ordered 4 dishes for 4 persons (with additional 2 bowls of rice for our friends) and we were shock by the gigantic portion. One portion of fried chicken can feed 2 persons, so you better prepare an empty tummy or friends to accompany you.

Even the fries itself has a gigantic portion, topped with melted cheddar cheese and grated parmesan, the fries tasted pretty nice, it was served with creamy sauce that has a lovely tangy taste almost like yoghurt sauce.

Overall, Chir Chir serves tasty and satisfying Korean Fried Chicken, AnakJajan are glad that finally we have a nice place to visit for delicious Korean Fried Chicken in Jakarta. Hopefully there will be more and more different and unique Korean food restaurant opening in Jakarta so we can have more options. Let’s Jajan!!
