One of my top reasons to visit Osaka on #AnakJajanJapan Spring 2016 trip is because I want to visit Gudetama Cafe at Hep Five Osaka, Tokyo.
Created in 2013, one of the new members of Sanrio, Gudetama the lazy egg recently has charmingly stolen the hearts of many people including ME!! 🙂
If you visit Japan in recent years, other than the popular Helly Kitty, Rilakkuma, etc, you can see the unmotivated and lazy orange/yellow egg shaped character everywhere. The popularity of Gudetama has also reached many countries including Hongkong, Taiwan, Thailand, etc, sadly Indonesia is a bit left behind.
As you can see on our snapchat: ANAKJAJAN, I’m a bit ‘crazy’ with Gudetama merchandises, it always excites me to see any Gudetama related stuff whenever I travel, luckily Mr. Jajan supports my craziness 😀 he always patiently accompanies me to find Gudetama merchandise and showered me with lots of Gudetama gifts. I’m gonna show you my Gudetama collection in another post and hopefully can arrange a small giveaway too if I’m not too lazy :p

This time I’m gonna talk about one of the CUTEST CAFES I’VE EVER VISITED (ok, I’m biased hahaha)!! Gudetama’s permanent cafe in HEP FIVE Osaka. The cafe is located in the 7th floor selling kawaii (read: cute) Gudetama shaped food and beverages with price range from JPY 550 to JPY 1.200.
The cafe’s interior is dominated by Gudetama’s signature yellow color complete with Gudetama drawings, plush dolls, figures and even EGG SHAPED CHAIRS!!
Since AnakJajan were not too hungry yet, we ordered two items only Gudetama Curry Rice JPY 1.000 and Gudetama Pudding Parfait JPY 1.100. While waiting for the order, you can watch Gudetama cartoon played in the cafe. The cafe was packed with girls and children, there were only two male customers including Mr. Jajan during our visit 😀
Gudetama Curry Rice JPY 1.000
Gudetama shaped yellow rice with bacon ‘blanket’ in curry sauce ‘bed’. The rice was too cute to be eaten, we made sure to take pictures from all angles before ruining (read: eating) the rice hahaha.

It was surprisingly very enjoyable, the curry was smooth yet light but rich enough in spices, rice was cooked nicely we enjoyed it till the last spoonful. It was a nice plate of Japanese curry rice after all.

Gudetama Pudding Parfait JPY 1.100
The pudding was made from mango juice, it was paired nicely with soft light cream, banana, raspberry and thin crepe.

FYI, the cafe also sells Gudetama merchandises at the front area of the cafe, I almost went crazy and wanna buy it all 😀
Overall, cute decor, cute looking food with surprisingly nice flavors, Gudetama Cafe in HEP FIVE Osaka is definitely A MUST MUST MUST VISIT if you love Gudetama. Let’s Travel!!
