WASHOKU SATO All You Can Eat – Jakarta

Originated from Japan since 1958, Washoku Sato is a Japanese family restaurant chain that has opened two outlets in Jakarta, Indonesia at Central Park Mall and Mall of Indonesia (MOI) since three years ago. Since the past one year, Washoku Sato started to offer All You Can Eat (AYCE).

All You Can Eat menu is available on both outlets MOI and Central Park Mall. Since the MOI outlet opens early from 07.00, they also serve variety of breakfast set menu from 07.00 until 11.00.

For All You Can Eat (AYCE), there are two courses or packages:
1. Regular Course with 33 items (shabu-shabu only)
IDR 188k/person
IDR 158k/senior (above 65 years old)
IDR 68k/junior (under 12 years old)
Free for kids under 3 years old
2. Premium Course with 97 items (shabu-shabu, sushi, tempura, yakitori, appetizer, Japanese a la carte and dessert)
IDR 228k/person
IDR 188k/senior (above 65 years old)
IDR 68k/junior (under 12 years old)
Free for kids under 3 years old

Here are the T&C for All You Can Eat:
– Time limit is 90 minutes.
– Customers have to order the same type of course in one table.
– Last order is 30 minutes before time limit.
– Leftover food will be charged, so make sure to order and eat wisely.

Drink is not included in the AYCE package, you can order unlimited Free Flow Ocha for IDR 5k or Free Flow Drink Bar IDR 28.8k (if you order food/ AYCE) or IDR 38.8k (without ordering any food).

AnakJajan opted for Premium course so we’re going to review Premium Course in this post, with a difference of IDR 40k between Regular Course IDR 188k/person and Premium Course IDR 228k/person, we personally think that the Premium Course is more worth to try since we can enjoy 64 more premium items or 97 items in total.

When you start, Starter Set including Aus Ribeye, US short plate, and assorted vegetables will be automatically served. Washoku Sato doesn’t have buffet, but the ordering system is very simple by writing down your order in the order sheet and hand it over to the waiter/ waitress, then the waiter/ waitress will prepare and bring the orders to your table as many times as you like within time limit.

Let’s start with the soup for shabu-shabu, there are 5 types of soup, Chanko Soup, Pirikara Chanko Soup, Konbu Soup, Tomato Basil Soup (new) and Soy Milk Soup (new). You can choose two soups in one pot (half & half) if you want to try different soup in one go, AnakJajan tried the two new soups Tomato Basil and Soy Milk Soup. The Tomato Basil soup has a nice clean after taste with light sour taste and hint of basil aroma while Soy Milk soup has a nice smooth, creamy, savory and comforting taste. FYI, soup is FREE REFILL, yay!

For shabu-shabu ingredients, there are 37 items that you can choose from meat, seafood, meatballs, sausage, vegetables, tofu, mushroom, noodle and rice. There are three options of meat Aus Ribeye, US Short Plate and Aburi Chicken, AnakJajan love the way they serve the beef with thick generous cut so it’s more meaty when it’s cooked. To accompany the shabu-shabu, Washoku Sato has creamy sesame Goma and tangy Ponzu dipping sauce.

Sushi selection is plentiful with roll and nigiri sushi. AnakJajan tried several sushi dishes and all of them were enjoyable and quite satisfying with nicely seasoned sushi rice and generous filling or topping.

Yakitori is freshly grilled by order with 10 options of skewers. For a la carte, AnakJajan had the shrimp okonomiyaki and chicken kushikatsu, and for tempura, we tried chicken and egg tempura, all of our orders were executed decently, it made our tummies happy.

Option for dessert is pretty delightful as well such as Kakigori, Mousse, Ice Cream, etc. For dessert, AnakJajan had the soft fluffy Matcha Dorayaki filled with sweet red bean/ ogura paste inside, fruity Strawberry Mousse with smooth texture and Shiratama Kinako or chewy mochi served with red bean/ ogura paste and kinako/ roasted soybean flour.

Overall, food was delicious with wide range of menu from sushi, shabu-shabu, yakitori, dessert, etc. AnakJajan got to say that All You Can Eat package in Washoku Sato is really worth the price, we highly recommend you to choose Premium Course since with extra IDR 40k you can get 64 more premium items such as sushi, tempura, yakitori, etc. Judging from our satisfaction level, it seems like we’re going to revisit the restaurant again very soon, oishi ne! Let’s Jajan!!
