TANAMERA COFFEE JAKARTA & MILKBAR – PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk)

Congratulations Tanamera Coffee Roastery for the opening of 5th outlet and also Milkbar in Pantai Indah Kapuk.

Following the success in Thamrin City, SDC Serpong, Ahmad Dahlan and One Pacific Place, on October 2016 Tanamera opened another new outlet in the hype Pantai Indah Kapuk area, North Jakarta, soon they will open another outlet of Tanamera Coffee in Samasta Jimbaran, Bali. The coffee shop located at the same row with Yoshinoya PIK is very easy to spot thanks to the catchy red and black signage.

On the 1st floor, there’s an ice cream display by artisanal gelato Milkbar with wide range of colorful gelato and sorbet selections that customer can order. Other than coffee drinks, the Tanamera outlet in PIK also offers wide variety of breakfast/ brunch menu with price ranging from 30k to IDR 139k, inside the coffee shop, you can purchase various arabica coffee beans from Indonesia as well.

During our visit, the barista and chef arranged a brunch and coffee pairing session for us, here are some of the food we tried along with the recommended coffee pairing.

Croissants IDR 55k
Croissant served with bacon, scrambled eggs, spicy hollandaise and salad. This dish was my favorite, the scrambled egg was simply amazing, very aromatic, soft, creamy yet fluffy altogether, definitely one of the best in town AnakJajan got to say. If only the croissant had a crispy texture on the outside, this dish would be perfect.For this dish, the barista suggested Espresso (Espresso Blend) IDR 25k to pair the dish, the espresso blend with chocolaty, spicy, nutty, earthy yet mild characteristics definitely complemented the creaminess from scrambled egg nicely.

Croque Madame IDR 75k
Classic French sandwich with ham, cheese, mustard sauce on sour dough with fried egg and salad. It was enjoyable, nicely toasted bread with aromatic salty cheese crust on the outside and generous layers of ham on the inside. The recommended coffee pairing for this dish is Cafe Latte (Espresso Blend) IDR 35k.

Fried Egg Benedict IDR 75k
The egg benedict here is quite unusual in a good way with fried egg, sliced ham, spicy hollandaise sauce on top of English muffin. English muffin was fluffy and nicely toasted with subtle hint of spicy kick from the hollandaise sauce, I had a huge crush on the 63-degree fried egg with soft creamy yolk. For this dish, the barista recommended Daily Brew (Malabar Natural) IDR 30k with fruity and sweet characteristics.

Black Pudding IDR 85k
Americano (Rasuna Natural) IDR 30k is the recommended pairing for this dish consists of black pudding, scrambled egg, salad, sourdough and sweet sour fruity berry compote to give the dish a nice balance of flavors.

Ginger and Shallot Style Dory Fish IDR 100k
Dory fish cooked in savory sweet yet spicy black vinegar sauce and served with rice. This dish was one of our favorites, the fish has a delightful soft, smooth and tender texture while the sauce was really rich and deep in flavors, and Daily Brew (Flores Kartika) IDR 30k can complement the dish nicely.

Pork Ribs IDR 135k
Braised pork ribs with sweet and sour sauce paired with Americano IDR 30k. Pork ribs were very tender, full of flavors and fall of the bone easily. The sauce glazed the ribs nicely with intense sweet, savory and sour flavors so it tastes better with white rice.

Lost in the Forest (French Toast) IDR 90k
It’s such a pretty french toast, the chef told us the name of this dish is inspired by his experiences of getting lost in the forest 😀
The French toast was served with raspberry curd, strawberry meringue, chocolate soil, vanilla gelato and it tasted just as good as its look, soft fluffy, creamy and fruity altogether. The coffee pairing suggested by barista was Cappuccino (Espresso Blend) IDR 35k, but AnakJajan personally think that non milk coffee drink will suit the sweet creamy French toast better.

Sweet 16 IDR 120k
If you cannot decide on which flavor of gelato to get why don’t you just order everything? 😀
The Sweet 16 by Milkbar could be a nice solution since you can get 16 mini cones of assorted gelato flavors in one order, the Baileys gelato is to die for!!

Bear/Pig Cone IDR 30k (+ IDR 10k for premium flavors)
Cute food alert!! If you’re bored with regular ice cream cone, then the pig or bear shaped gelato in a cone is a must try!! Basically you can get any flavors to be shaped as bear or pig but AnakJajan highly recommend you to get pink color gelato for pig or brown color gelato for bear shaped cone.

Waffle IDR 45k
Pretty looking waffle menu by Milkbar consists of homemade waffles with syrup, meringue kisses and choice of gelato (+ IDR 10k for premium flavors). The waffles were crunchy on the outside while soft fluffy on the inside, to make it more festive, we had rainbow gelato flavors.

Overall, great coffee as always and scrumptious brunch dishes that were beyond our expectations. Will definitely be back for more coffee, brunch and also gelato! Let’s Jajan!!
