Serving Asian food served in unique stone pot, Fat Stone is a new restaurant with different concept that has opened recently in Kelapa Gading area.

Fat Stone offers various Asian dishes such as Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai and even Indonesian food, the presentation of the food here is pretty unique, basically all dishes will be served in a hot stone pot over the portable stove on the table.

There are dry version, soup version and even rice version, all prepared and cooked in the sizzling hot stone pot. Each dish is available in two portion, half or date portion is perfect for two person while whole or party portion is perfect for 3 until 4 person.

Beef Ribs from Hell IDR 220k (1kg), IDR 120k (1/2kg)
This is one of the best selling dishes at Fat Stone. Beef ribs braised and then deep fried, served over pipping hot spicy sambal.

Before eating it, you have to stir and mix the sambal and ribs on the stone pot. AnakJajan opted for 1kg version and it was seriously HUGE and generous! The ribs were very tender and cooked nicely, the sambal itself was very spicy yet addictive it’s perfect for spicy food lovers.

Korean Kalbi Jjim IDR 240k(1kg), IDR 130k(1/2kg)
Braised beef short ribs cooked in Korean soy sauce with carrot and daikon radish. For this one, AnakJajan also had the 1kg portion and again it came in generous portion.

The seasoning was irresistibly sweet, rich, savory and comforting, it kinda reminds me of Indonesian semur dish.
Beef was also well marinated and very tender. It goes really well with a bowl of warm rice.

Korean Budae Jjigae IDR 215k(party), IDR 120k(date)
Buade Jjigae is a popular hot pot/ stew dish originated from Korea and Fat Stone’s version comes with uber festive toppings, beef shabu/chicken/dory, chikuwa, smoked beef, sausage, egg, mushroom, kimchi, tofu, tteokpoki, tomato, napa, bokchoy, onion, carrots, green onion and corn.

The beef soup was very comforting with subtle hint of spicy flavors, it was pretty enjoyable and satisfying. Don’t forget to add Korean ramyun noodle for extra satisfaction.

Overall, nice concept, great flavors, Fat Stone is a promising new addition to Kelapa Gading culinary scene. AnakJajan suggest you to come in a group since the food is more suitable for sharing, in that way you can try several dishes in one go. Let’s Jajan!!
