A break from everything is much needed every once in a while, AnakJajan recently spent quality time at an amazing homey villa with therapeutic green view of Ubud, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan.
As we’ve shared so many times, Ubud is by far our most favorite area of Bali and having a stay in Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan couldn’t get any more perfect.
Known as one of the world’s best resorts, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan is peacefully situated in the lush jungle greenery of Ubud and Ayung River. AnakJajan love the way they built this resort, it blends with nature harmoniously.
With a total area of 7 hectares, the resort has 60 suites and private villas. As you can see from the picture below, the building is the main resort building with spacious suites and it’s more suitable for family with separate living room and bedroom and available in one or two levels.
RIVERFRONT ONE-BEDROOM VILLA
For total privacy, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan offers 6 types of villas. AnakJajan stayed in Riverfront One-Bedroom Villa, in the front area there’s lily pond and meditation area facing the lush greenery, talking about maximum privacy, the villa itself is located downstairs.
Upon entering the villa, AnakJajan were greeted by spacious outdoor living area complete with outdoor dining table, lounge chair and private pool facing Ayung river and Ubud forest.
The bedroom itself was very homey and comfy with wooden furnitures and flooring while for bathroom was very lux with freestanding tub and two shower room outdoor and indoor. I had a major crush on the spacious wood panelled walk-in closet.
Spa is one of many activities that we simply cannot miss whenever we’re in Bali. The Sacred River Spa offers various programs that can help the guests re energize both body and mind. AnakJajan opted for Rice and Spice Body Scrubs with all natural ingredients to clean and exfoliate our bodies, the treatment was relaxing and it made our bodies smooth and fresh.
RICE BOWL ARCHITECTURE JOURNEY
To entertain the guests, there are many activities available at the resort such as Anti Gravity Yoga, Rice Harvest, Rice Bowl Architecture Journey, etc.
AnakJajan joined Rice Bowl Architecture Journey, a private walking tour around the resort to see and understand the inspiration and concept behind resort’s architecture by architect John Heah where the main building is described as “Rice Bowl” to reflect Ubud’s beauty nature. Hearing all the stories behind the design made us appreciate the beauty of this place better.
DINING- RIVERSIDE CAFE
For dinner, AnakJajan had a dinner date at Riverside Cafe where they have changed the concept of restaurant recently and for dinner they offer Contemporary Grill menu cooked with premium imported meats and local ingredients including homegrown vegetables and herbs from their own garden.
For starter, they served complimentary homemade bread. The bread was warm and lovely, to make it even better they served it with 12 types of condiments such as parsley butter, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, olive oil, butter, etc.
Canadian Rockefeller Scallops IDR 360k
Scallops baked in shell with herbs, parmesan crust and baby spinach puree. The scallops were huge, fresh and sweet, AnakJajan enjoyed the way they chose light seasoning to let the pure taste of the scallops shine.
Sayan Garden IDR 190k
The salad’s presentation was very eye catching with neat and colorful ingredients, shaved root vegetables hand-picked from garden with mixed greens, super seeds and apple cider vinaigrette. All the ingredients were very fresh with delightful crunchiness, the dressing was very light but it was to clean for me personally since I’m still a beginner when it comes to eating vegetables 😀
280gr Australian Rib Eye IDR 525k
Cooked nicely as requested with beautiful pink color in the center, the huge rib eye steak was served with beer battered onion rings, vine cheery tomatoes, broccolini, red wine jus. Meat was very tender and juicy with lovely char-grilled aroma, it was such a filling dish.
Bali Lime Tart IDR 100k // Bali Pod Chocolate Fondant IDR 120k
There’s always a room for dessert for us, so we ordered two desserts, Bali Lime Tart with lime curd, citrus honey and yoghurt for Mr. Jajan since he loves zesty sweet and sour dessert. And rich bitter sweet Bali Pod Chocolate Fondant with vanilla ice cream for me.
DINING – AYUNG TERRACE
Right before checking out, AnakJajan had a traditional Balinese lunch at Ayung Terrace, a lovely restaurant with nice view of Ayung River, specializes in authentic Balinese and Indonesian dishes along with variety of international dishes.
We had their signature Nasi Campur or mixed rice with variety of side dishes typical local farmer’s lunch, it was a simple yet satisfying lunch, rich in spices, bold in flavors not to mention the addictive chili condiments.
Overall, we had an impressive staying experience in Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan. The warm hospitality, the clean air, enchanting greenery, comfy bed, quite and serene atmosphere, we left the resort felt refreshed and energized, big thanks to the amazing experience. We’re going to continue our story about our staycation experience at Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay next week, so stay tuned! Let’s travel deliciously!!
