Hello from The Westin Jakarta, currently the tallest hotel in Indonesia and also one of the nicest place for afternoon tea or high tea places in Jakarta at Lobby lounge at 52nd floor.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday for all Sahabat Jajan who celebrate!! Also happy holiday 😉

I always love the holiday vibes on December mainly from the festive Christmas decor everywhere and also Christmas edition products including food and beverage. As seen on our snapchat:ANAKJAJAN few days ago, we spent one fine afternoon having a lovely afternoon tea at The Westin Jakarta hotel with fancy Christmas theme.

Afternoon tea is available daily from 2PM TILL 5PM at Lobby Lounge level 52, the lounge has an incredibly picturesque view of Jakarta skyline with posh modern decor.

Specially on December, The Westin Jakarta revamps their afternoon tea into unique Christmas themed set IDR 338k per set for 2 teapots of Jing Tea or coffee or hot chocolate, sandwiches, pastries and freshly baked scones.

For the tea, there are 8 selections of Jing Tea, AnakJajan opted for Peppermint and Jasmine Silver Needle. The sandwiches consist of Pumpkin Madeline Sandwich with Smoked Salmon, Horseradish, Smoked Turkey Cranberry Sandwich, Parmesan Choux with Basil Cream Cheese and Chicken Liver Spread with Crispy Rye Bread Chips. These savory items were tasteful, great flavors, nice texture, all of us loved it especially the Parmesan Choux and Smoked Turkey Cranberry Sandwich.

The freshly baked scones came in Ginger Pumpkin and Cinnamon Raisin version served with orange marmalade and traditional whipping cream. The Ginger Pumpkin was lacking of flavor and aroma but Cinnamon Raisin was better, it was not bad but not the best in town IMHO.

As for the main attraction, they serve the pastries with smoke effect and then snow effect by grating white chocolate using grater that is attached with bells for winter Christmas sensation, such a sweet and well thought plan isn’t it? 🙂

The pastries consist of Ginger Bread House, Puff Pastry Christmas Tree, Mince Pie, Christmad Stolen, Chocolate Yule Log, Meringue Drop, Raspberry Tartlette, Glue Wine Jelly and Fudgy Cacao Brownie. All the pastries were palatable, we enjoyed the stolen and brownie the most.

Overall, impressive skyline view of Jakarta, cozy space, friendly staff and decent enjoyable taste, AnakJajan must say that The Westin Jakarta is definitely one of the nicest places for hotel afternoon tea in Jakarta. Let’s Jajan!!
