HARIO CAFE – PLUIT, Jakarta

Meet the new and soon to be the hottest cafe in Pluit area, HARIO CAFE JAKARTA.

Located near Pluit Village Mall, Hario Cafe will be open for public on 13th May 2018. The spacious cafe is decorated with exposed brick walls and wooden furniture resulting a clean, modern, and cozy vibes. It’s nice to have a space like this in Pluit since we mostly find it in south/ central Jakarta area.

Hario is a popular brand from Japan known for their manual brew equipments, their new outlet in Pluit is the second outlet after the first one in BSD. The new outlet has “drink, eat and shop” concept so aside from drink and eat, you’re able to take a closer look and purchase Hario’s product both coffee & jewelry.

For the menu, unlike the first outlet, here in Pluit outlet they offer great range of breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as coffee and non coffee beverages. For coffee you can find espresso based coffee as well as hand brew coffee of course prepared by using Hario manual brew equipments.

Cappuccino IDR 37k
Customer are able to choose between light or medium roast for their espresso based coffee. Our order was medium roast and it was enjoyable, great consistency and well-balanced.

V60 IDR 36k
For clean aftertaste and balanced bitterness, V60 hand brew is highly recommended so we chose that one. As for coffee beans, there were Bali, Aceh Gayo, and Ethiopia beans available. We opted for Ethiopia which was very aromatic.

Cold Brew Tea IDR 35k
Aside from cold brew coffee, they happen to have Cold Brew Tea as well where they brewed the tea with cold water in Hario Filter Bottle. AnakJajan opted for Sunshine Tea with green tea, peach, orang, apple, chamomile, marigold, it was light, refreshing yet rich in flavor with no bitterness thanks to the cold brew technique.

Something Special IDR 43k
From mocktail section, AnakJajan opted for Something Special which consists of white sugar, mint, and pomegranate. It was uber refreshing and not overly sweet, just perfect for Jakarta’s hot weather.

Hario Fried Rice IDR 65k
It might look simple but it tastes DA BOMB YUM! Hario Cafe seriously makes a great fried rice, we were told that they use homemade chili sauce to make the fried rice complemented by chicken pop, pickled vegetables, crackers, tamago. The seasoning was well balanced with nice wok-fry aroma and medium level of spiciness, even the pickles were nicely marinated, so good we can easily sat that it’s our number 1 fav item there.

Yakiniku Glazed Sirloin Steak IDR 168k
Sirloin steak cooked in medium doneness served with mesclun salad, shimeji, caramelized carrot, potato chips. It was a nice meaty option for meat lover like Mr. Jajan, the steak was tender and nicely seasoned, love the fact that all ingredients were complementing each other. The only down side would be the potato chips were missing some salt, it would be perfect if paired with lightly salted chips.

Soy Marinade Salmon IDR 148k
Nicely cooked salmon with pink center just the way we like, it’s served with pomme puree, tapioca crackers, tamago, cream spinach.

Maple French Toast IDR 68k
Personally, my second favorite item would be their Maple French Toast served with caramelized banana, crunch almond, butterscotch, strawberry, & soft ice cream. The french toast was delightful with nice golden outer, eggy buttery and best enjoyed with soft ice cream.

Marinated Pulled Pork Burger IDR 85k
Mr. Jajan’s second favorite item has gotta be their Marinated Pulled Pork Burger served with apple coleslaw, sunny side up, katsuobushi, & chips. The pulled pork was nicely done, juicy tender flavorful without being overpowering and the addition of sunny side up egg gave the burger a nice creamy sensation.

Smoothie Base IDR 34K + Kiwi IDR 6k + Banana IDR 6k + Red Dragon Fruit IDR 6k
Their smoothie offers a rather interesting experience because you get to mix and blend the smoothie by yourself using Hario Smoothie Maker.

Soft Serve IDR 18k
LOTS OF LOVE FOR THEIR SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM!! The flavor of soft serve ice cream will be changed periodically and it was Nutella Hazelnut during our visit which was so good, nutty chocolatey creamy milky, ahhh I want it now!

Overall, Hario Cafe simply brings the cafe game in Pluit area to another level with its large cozy space. The menu to our surprise were enjoyable and delightful as well.
