Meet our tasty findings recently in Gading Serpong, Tangerang area, a humble place for meal called Pecel Pincuk Ibu Ida.
Pecel is Javanese traditional cuisine made from boiled vegetables with peanut sauce. As the name suggests, you can expect to find legit Pecel there along with a few of other dishes like Rawon, Rujak Cingur, Lodek, Nasi Lodeh.
During the weekend, we were looking for something humble and local for lunch and after a deep search on google, we found a place called Pecel Pincuk Ibu Ida in Gading Serpong area, it happens to have other outlets in Cibubur, Bintaro, and Depok.
Upon arriving, the store was fully packed with customers. So basically the ordering system is more like self service, you order and take any side dishes you want from the display, bring it to the table, enjoy it, and then after finish eating, head over to the cashier to pay.
Nasi/ Lontong Pecel Pincuk IDR 13k, Pecel Pincuk Nasi Merah IDR 14k
For Pecel Pincuk, you can choose 3 types of carbs; Rice, Brown Rice, or Rice Cake, and it comes with Rempeyek Crackers, Vegetables, and Pecel Peanut Sauce. For the sauce, you can choose the spiciness level.
Bakwan IDR 3.5k, Tahu Goreng IDR 2k, Telur Dadar/ Ceplok/ Asin IDR 5.5k
There were lots of sides dishes on the display and of course as usually, we went crazy (KALAP!) and took so many items. The price for side dishes ranges from IDR 2k to IDR 16.5k.
Tempe/ Tahu Bacem IDR 3.5k, Tempe Kemul IDR 2k, Empal IDR 13k
All the side dishes were enjoyable but just alright, nothing special. You can ask them to pour Pecel peanut sauce over it to make it tastes even better!
Personally we found that their Pecel Lontong + Rempeyek crackers are the main stars, it was so good we don’t need any other additional side dishes to satisfy. The vegetables were nicely cooked, the sauce was well balanced, nutty sweet and very aromatic, then the Rempeyek crackers gave the dish a nice savory taste and crunchy texture. Tasty, enjoyable, reasonably affordable, what’s there not to love?
