Earlier this month, AnakJajan had brunch at Tjap Toean. Tjap Toean is an old fashioned style eating house with unique and nostalgic old school Chinatown interior and concept.

Using brick walls and wooden furniture, the interior is very interesting. We just love the details they put into decorating this place with vintage displays and ornaments such as old Chinese calendar, paper umbrella, vintage poster, etc resulting a nostalgic yet cozy ambiance.

Toast with thick bread is one of the signature menu at Tjap Toean that could be the perfect order for breakfast or light meal. AnakJajan tried three of their toast menu and we loved it so much!! The bread was nicely toasted crispy on the outside while fluffy soft on the inside. AnakJajan have to give two thumbs up for the unique and uncommon variety of toast such as Rotie Nie with silky smooth sweet durian spread that made Mr. Jajan unable to stop from eating it, aromatic Si Tong french toast with butter scotch and banana or Roti Ngai cheese toast topped with amazing crunchy cheese crust on top!! I repeat, crunchy cheese crust!!
