Calling all seafood lovers!! AnakJajan would like to introduce you with this newly opened restaurant in Kemang specialized in seafood, Prawn Star.
Prawn Star is located at Kemang Raya street in the same complex with Laser Game Kemang, across Kemang Food Fest. The easiest way to find the restaurant is to notice the huge sign of Prawn Star on the second floor. The restaurant is consist of two floors, the 2nd floor is a very nice and spacious rooftop with small stage where they have live music performance.
Talking about the food, here at Prawn Star you can find various seafood dishes especially prawn cooked in various cooking method and seasoning.
Ice Cream Beer IDR 30k
Double pleasure of beer combining Heineken with sweet refreshing homemade beer ice cream made from Radler, goes perfectly with savory seafood.
Garlic Mussel IDR 55k
For appetizer, AnakJajan recommend you to try their Garlic Mussels. Mussels with savory garlic seasoning topped with mozarella cheese and then baked till melted. These mussels are indeed very addictive! AnakJajan just couldn’t stop munching the savory garlicky cheesy mussels.
Cheese Baked BIG Prawn IDR 80k
MOTHER OF SHRIMP!! This was the first time for us to have a shrimp as big as this, just see the size comparison with my hands.
The baked prawn was cutted open and topped with generous melted mozarella cheese. This dish tastes the best while it’s hot it will literally melt in your mouth. Shrimp was very juicy sweet and rich because the prawn was overflow with super rich creamy golden roe.
Baked Lobster Tail IDR 255k
Baked lobster tail with crunchy bread crumbs mixture served with potato wedges, salad and tangy tomato roux. This dish was very delicious, we just love how well every of this dish complement each other.
Crayfish Spaghetti IDR 72k
This is one of my most favorite dish at Prawn Star, 3 baked crayfish served with aglio olio spaghetti. Spaghetti was al dente with powerful garlic kick of flavor, and to make it even richer they mixed the crayfish roe and meat into the pasta. While the baked crayfish itself was also nice, we just love the way they cut out the meat so we don’t need to get our hands dirty to peel the crayfish.
Grilled Prawn IDR 175k (1pound)/ IDR 390k (2pounds)
Prawns cutted in half and seasoned with some herbs then grilled and served with one choice of sauce (tartar/ matah sambal/ spicy garlic sauce). Prawn was nicely grilled and seasoned lightly so we can enjoy the rich and sweet natural flavor of fresh prawns, as for the sauce AnakJajan had sambal matah, typical Balinese sauce that goes really well with seafood.
The Bucket IDR 230k
The Bucket consists of 600gr of crayfish and shrimp covered with cajun butter seasoning and accompanied with corn cob and sweet potato. Shrimp and crayfish were cooked nicely, it was very fresh, juicy and sweet and perfectly combined with sweet juicy corn and soft sweet potato. AnakJajan personally enjoyed the cajun seasoning a lot, it was very fragrant and buttery we just couldn’t stop licking it.
Ice Cream IDR 20k
For dessert, AnakJajan highly recommend you to try their ice cream. There are plentiful choices of ice cream flavor such as avocado, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, mango, greentea, rambutan, honeydew, strawberry, green beans, durian and beer (just like the one we had in Beer Float drink). AnakJajan had durian ice cream, we love the fact that they make their own ice cream and the texture was very nice, soft, smooth and not overly sweet.
Overall, the main key of seafood restaurant is the freshness of the seafood itself and seafood quality at Prawn Star is undoubtedly good. The dishes were also unique and delicious AnakJajan enjoyed every single dish here. Definitely a heaven for seafood especially prawn lovers!! Lets’s Jajan!!
