Huang Ji Huang Three Sauce Simmer Pot has been AnakJajan’s favorite place at this moment. It is a franchise restaurant from China that serve unique dish in a simmer pot.
Our addiction to Huang Ji Huang started from my craving for something soupy or Asian after returning from my Queensland trip. Me and Mr. Jajan had a dinner appointment with our friend Natasha, we were struggling in deciding where to eat, we changed our minds repeatedly from Tambak Bayan, Soto, Akiaw, Bakso Aan till Bihun Bebek A Eng at PIK. Then on our way to Bihun Bebek A Eng we saw Huang Ji Huang we decided to stop by there to see the menu and instantly tempted by the inviting fragrant aroma of spices from inside the restaurant.
Huang Ji Huang offers various combo of simmer pot with different toppings but besides the combo, you can also order your own combination of toppings with minimum 3 and maximum 5 toppings in one pot. 10 types of vegetables are already included in the simmer pot such as garlic, onion, sweet potato, carrot, celery, red pepper, green pepper, cherry tomatoes, red dates and wolfberry. As for the sauce there are four types of sauce Original soy sauce, Seafood sauce, Sour Pepper sauce and the recommended Mala Spicy sauce.
AnakJajan ordered our own combination with Pork Ribs IDR 98k, Squid IDR 98k, Beef IDR 92k with Mala sauce and additional Mixed Mushroom IDR 52k.
Pork Ribs IDR 98k, Squid IDR 98k, Beef IDR 92k with Spicy Mala Sauce
The vegetables were seasoned with various spices and cooked with their homemade butter made from 38 types of spices if I’m not mistaken.
They will put the meat on top of the vegetables and slowly cook it. Later when the ingredients are cooked, the mala sauce will be added, mixed and ready to eat.

Then in the middle of your meal, you can ask the staff to pour broth in your simmer pot for a soup version.
We just love how we could enjoy two types of dish in one order. Both dry and soup version were equally delicious as for the toppings squid was nice, beef was just okay but the pork ribs were the champion! Tender fall of the bone pork ribs were fully marinated and seasoned nicely it tasted even better with mala sauce.
The spicy Mala sauce itself was more likely to hot than spicy, it warmed our bodies but didn’t burn our stomach, love it!
Overall, Huang Ji Huang offers a great and unique variety of Chinese food. Their simmer pot was so good and addicting AnakJajan visited the restaurant twice in a week already and we are sure there will be third forth or fifth visit soon. Let’s Jajan!!
