Everyone would agree that freshly baked breads are the best, but how do you like your breads? Crusty-rustic or fluffy-soft?
Me and Mr. Jajan like the latter, which is very typical Japanese styled breads. Soft and light yet satisfying, it is perfect and practical for snacks or light meal.
Luckily, it is easy to find Japanese breads nowadays in Indonesia. One of our favorite Japanese artisan bakery is BreadLife, which owns 64 outlets in 14 cities, from train stations, campuses to high end malls.I remember clearly the first time I visited BreadLife Bakery’s outlet at my hometown, the aroma of freshly baked bread from their open kitchen plus the wide variety of breads and cakes were extremely tempting.
Not only they smell good, they are freshly produced on daily basis without preservatives and coloring. The products are served inside closed counters in order to maintain the quality and freshness of the products.
Mamamia, The Ring and Rugby are their best-selling products. Which product of BreadLife Bakery is your all-time favorite? My all time favorites would be The Tiger Roll and Flossy Hottie, and now, they have two new products that you should try: Kuro Banana Cream and Yakitari, let’s check them out!
Kuro Banana Cream IDR 12k

This black round shaped bread is called Kuro Banana Cream, black bun made with activated natural charcoal that is full of health benefits filled with two filling layers, white cream and banana cream.
After the first bite, this bread immediately became our favorite. The bread is sooo soft and fluffy with smooth banana cream filling that is not overly sweet and very enjoyable.
Yakitari IDR 10.5k

While on the savory side, BreadLife launched Yakitari, bread skewer with beef sausage filling, tomato sauce, mayonnaise and nori seaweed covered with bread crumb. The bread skewer is very practical and easy to enjoy also tastes delicious as well. I really love the addition of nori seaweed because it makes it unique.
Both new menu are available in BreadLife outlet in Jakarta and Bandung starting from 6th August 2015 and other cities starting from 3rd September 2015.
AnakJajan just realized that Breadlife has a brand makeover during our visit earlier this month. As we all familiar with, BreadLife used to be dominated with yellow and orange color and now BreadLife has a new fresher and bolder look with red and white logo and Japanese pattern inspired by Japanese flag and culture that represent BreadLife concept to keep innovating and offering the best for their customer. It turned out that the new look and the new menu launch mark its 10th Anniversary.
FYI, to celebrate BreadLife 10th Anniversary, BreadLife organize a #NewBreadLifeContest Instagram Photo Challenge from 10th August till 27th September 2015 where the 1st winner will get a Mirrorless Samsung NX300M Camera and BreadLife IDR 100k voucher for 1 weekly winner during the period of the competition.
