RUANG SEDUH Coffee Shop – Kemang, Jakarta

New spot for coffee enthusiasts, Ruang Seduh a communal brewing space at Kemang.

Right at the back of Aksara store at Kemang, you’ll find a new spot called Ruang Seduh. To enter Ruang Seduh, you have to walk into Aksara store and enter through the back door.

Ruang Seduh offers a new and unique experience for their customer where customer can get a D.I.Y (Do It Yourself) experience by try brewing and making their own coffee.

Seating capacity in Ruang Seduh is quite limited but you can sit at the vintage eclectic Kinosaurus next door, a movie screening space or microcinema that transforms into coffee lounge when there’s no movie screening. Wooden table, comfy chairs, vintage cameras, we just love this space so much!

Basically there are two categories for the coffee in Ruang Seduh. First is Manual Brew where you have to choose the beans, second is Espresso Based drink where you decide which Espresso Based drink you want (Espresso/ Americano/ Long Black/ Picollo/ Cappucino/ Latte) and then tell the barista whether you want to make your own coffee or not.

AnakJajan tried the Manual Brew, there were four types of bean price range from IDR 25k to IDR 60k. AnakJajan chose “Panama Finca Hartmann The Sixteen” IDR 60k, a full round body coffee with clean finish and subtle sweetness.

Mr. Jajan chose to brew his own coffee, the staff explained to him the step by step and guided him thoroughly from grinding till brewing the coffee. As for the equipment, they use Walkure Porcelain Pour Over Brewer with simple and convenient brewing method.

They also have Cold Brew Coffee but unfortunately it was not available during our visit, besides that, Ruang Seduh also offers cold pressed juice IDR 35k and some pastries and donuts.

Overall, AnakJajan must say that Ruang Seduh offers a great experience for their customers, rather than ordering their own coffee, the customers have an option to make their own coffee, in that way we can learn and understand more about it. Let’s Jajan!!
