TRANSPORTATION
Public transportation such as buses, trains and trams are available in Gold Coast.
To explore the city, AnakJajan used the public tram or the new Light Rail using TransLink Go Explore Card, an electronic ticket which offers visitors unlimited travel on any TransLink bus or tram service on the Gold Coast for only AUD 10 a day for adult or AUD 5 for children.
Surfers Paradise
Surfers Paradise beachfront boulevard is one of the most popular areas for tourist in Gold Coast where you can get almost everything there. It is like a complete package of destination, beach, shopping malls, hotels, cafes, restaurants etc, you can find it all at Surfers Paradise.

Broadbeach
Located just the south of Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach offers more quiet ambiance. For foodie, Broadbeach Oracle Boulevard has sort of become the ‘it’ place for good food, you can find many new and interesting restaurants there. Just like the three places we visited below, Mecca Bah, Jamm and Mamasan.

Mecca Bah
For more exotic flavor, try visiting Mecca Bah. Mecca Bah offers various dishes from across the Middle East, here you can typical Middle Eastern dishes such as Turkish kofte, Arab cheeses, Turkish pizzas, and lamb tagines.
Moroccan Cous Cous & Shrimp Salad with Tomato, Cucumber and Corn AUD 17
Sweet Potato Falafers with Tahini Sauce AUD 12
Bastillas Morrocan Chicken Pastries AUD 15
Hummus topped with Spiced Lamb, Pinenuts, Herbs with Lebanese Za’atar Bread AUD 15
All dishes AnakJajan tried were pretty good, the spices were spot on without overpowering, my personal favorite would be the light and refreshing combination between moroccan cous cous and crispy golden yet sweet shrimp.

Jamm Bar
Jamm Bar is one of the new comers in Broadbreach Oracle, they focus on bio dynamic organic seasonal produce and wines along with various cocktails handcrafted by their intoxicologist.
Roast Duck, Porcini, Asian Spiced Arancini, Aioli AUD 12
Fireball Burger AUD 17.50
We were still quite full from Mecca Bah earlier and saving some space in our tummies for our next destination Mamasan, that’s why we only ordered two items to share. Roast duck arancini, rice balls stuffed with roast duck, coated with breadcrumbs and then deep fried until golden crispy, and burger with spicy angus patty, bacon, blue cheese, red onion chilli slaw, fiery ball relish and organic sourdough bun, the beef patty was very juicy and you request no bun burger by changing the bun with iceberg lettuce.

Mamasan Kitchen & Bar
Mamasan serves interesting fusion Asian cuisine, a mix of modern and traditional cuisine from south east Asia, a great place for those who love rich flavorful Asian dishes.
Mamasan KFC AUD 22
Mamasan’s version of Korean Fried Chicken wings, the seasoning was very rich and flavorful, savory with a lil bit of sweetness with medium level of spiciness topped with parmesan almond snow for extra savory taste. Fingers licking good!
Red Wagyu Beef Curry AUD 32
This one was our favorite, the slow braised wagyu with red peanut curry was amazingly so sooooo tender, the curry itself was thick and aromatic, very yummy.
Wok Fried Tofu AUD 26
The tofu was uniquely very firm, stir fried with baby corn, black fungi mushroom, chili bean sauce, it was very rich and salty, I must say that it’s more suitable to be paired with white rice.
Mamasan Chocolate Brownie AUD 22
The brownie was very moist and rich but my favorite part would be the fortune cookie that was filled with sweet salty yet sticky salted caramel filling.

Paddock Bakery
Brunch always excites me! Paddock Bakery is one of our favorite places during the trip. Paddock Bakery offers freshly made bread and pastries along with breakfast and lunch menus.
Acai Bowl AUD 13
When I’m in Australia, I always tend to order brunch menu with lots of fruits because the fruits here are generally very sweet and juicy. This bowl of ice cold acai bowl was topped with house wood-fire granola, blueberries, fresh fig, strawberries, pistachio crumble. All ingredients were deliciously complementing each other, crunchy, juicy, sweet, sour and refreshing at the same time.
Toad in the Hole AUD 15.50
This one was Mr. Jajan’s delicious order, semi-sourdough loaf with 2 fried eggs hidden inside the bread served with thick cut bacon, smashed avocado, house chilli sambal, very nice.
Rustic Avo AUD 14.50
fresh avocado served with 7-grains wholemeal sourdough toast with toasted pistachios, sunflower seed and pepitas, dressed with lemon juice, olive oil and fresh parshley
Dippy Eggs AUD 12.5
2 soft boiled free range eggs with buttered sourdough soldiers, bacon bits, parsley
Leafy garden, cozy homey space, nice coffee, comfort dishes, we must say that this place is a gem!

Catch a Crab Tour
Another fun option of activity to do in Gold Coast is Catch a Crab tour. It is a fun adventure including various activities such as pelican feeding, yabbie pumping, trapping mudcrabs, fishing on the boat and ended with fresh and satisfying seafood feast! This tour is a great option of activity especially for family.
I had my first fishing experience there and guess what?! I’m a lucky first timer, caught my first fish ever minutes after trying it hahaha.

Captain Cook Memorial – Point Danger
Before heading to the airport, make a quick visit to Captain Cook Memorial, it is located at Coolangatta on the southern end of the Gold Coast on the east coast of Australia, very near to Coolangatta Airport. The beach scenery there is just soooooo beautiful and amazing, we had an awe-inspiring moment looking at the picturesque view.
