Out of many cities, AnakJajan received the most recommendations for Sydney, many of you are very kind and sweet to prepare a very long and thoughtful list of recommended places to eat in Sydney. We cannot thank each and every one of you enough for recommendations, we just want you to know that we really appreciate it. I think thanks to the recommendation, we gained the most weight in Sydney hahaha.
WHERE TO STAY
AnakJajan stayed at Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney. It is located in conveniently in the heart of Sydney’s CBD area, the nearest train station is Wynyard station around 6 minutes walk. The room was spacious, bed was comfy, we had a great quality of sleep. Major loveeeee for the bathtub with amazing city view.
Talking about the hospitality, we gave Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney two thumbs up! During our stay, the hotel indulged us with many sweet surprises including sparkling wine. It is such a great place to stay.

TRANSPORTATION
For public transportation, AnakJajan used bus the most followed by train. We purchased OPAL card at closest convenient store, it is some kind of smart card ticketing system where you load value onto and use on all public transport. The card is valid on all bus, rail, light rail and government ferry services in Sydney and the Central Coast, Hunter Region, Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands and Illawarra areas. On Sunday, using Opal Card you only need to pay AUD 2.50 for the whole day for all public transportation.
Carriageworks Farmers’ Market
If you happen to visit Sydney on Saturday, don’t forget to visit Carriageworks Farmers’ Market.
The market itself is situated in a vintage nineteenth century building that was originally a busy railway carriage and blacksmith workshop. The local farmers’ market features more than 70 regular stallholders that offer various seasonal fresh produce. It is a great place to get the local food market experience.

Newtown
Newtown is a suburb area of Sydney that is worth to visit. The area of Newtown has this kind of charming old town ambiance, we enjoyed our time exploring it.
Other than the town’s ambiance, Newtown also has large number of famous and interesting restaurants, coffee shops and cafes for example Cow and Moon, Black Star Pastry, Brewtown Newtown, etc. I suggest you to have a full of half day trip to Newtown.

Culture Scouts
Besides the old town ambiance, Newtown is also famous for its street arts, for you guys who are interested in street art, here is one of the interesting activities that you can do, Culture Scouts.
Culture Scouts is a two hours guided walk tour around Newtown area exploring the interesting street arts in the area and rounded off with a session of craft beer at local craft brewery. We explored many street arts in the back street area and learned a few information about the street art scene there, it was quite an interesting and new way to explore the city.
Barmuda
We were planning to have a breakfast at the famous Brewtown Newtown, but it was packed with customers so we moved to this place called Barmuda located just beside the famous Black Star Pastry.
Barmuda serves various all day breakfast and all day lunch dishes. I had the Ricotta Hot Cakes AUD 14.50, soft fluffy hot cakes served with maple syrup and blueberries, it was pretty delicious. Overall their breakfast dishes were hearty and enjoyable, it’s a good place to enjoy breakfast like locals.

Anita Gelato
I don’t know why but all gelato I’ve tasted in here were all wonderfully delicious. I think the great quality of milk in Australia plays a big part in making the gelato here delicious.
Anita Gelato is also one of many recommended places for gelato, they are famous for gelato and also frozen yoghurt.
Hazelnut + Pistachio Gelato AUD 8
The gelato has a great selection of flavors, I love the fact that their gelato is not as sweet as other places, it makes it more enjoyable.
Frozen Yoghurt AUD 7
The frozen yoghurt was creamy yet light tasting, and here in Anita Gelato, they give you UNLIMITED amount of toppings for frozen yoghurt, you can just simply choose as much as you can, the Cookieman Sauce was crazily delicious, it was pure bliss!

Koi Dessert Bar
Koi Dessert Bar is also one of many recommendations we received. Located in Chippendale near Anita Gelato and right beside Spice alley, it is a dessert bar opened by Arnold and Reynold Poernomo (the dessert prince of Masterchef Australia).
Since we had a dinner reservation afterwards, we only ordered two cakes from the display to share, Little Garden and Tropical Mousse, both cakes were pleasant and not overly sweet. I think for more complete experience, you should try the degustation menu.

Nick’s Seafood Restaurant
Overlooking Darling Harbour, Nick’s Seafood Restaurant is great place for a luscious seafood dining experience.
Nick’s Seafood Platter for Two AUD 160
The platter for two consists of fresh cooked lobster, freshly shucked Sydney rock ouster, sald and pepper baby calamari, fresh king prawns, blue swimmer crab, golden tempura king prawns, avocado, potato salad, chips. The seafood was definitely fresh and sweet, for me personally the portion was sooo huge it is more suitable for 3 or 4 persons.

Every ice cream lovers just cannot miss having Aqua S at Sydney. Famous for its innovative pastel blue sea salt soft serve ice cream, the soft serve ice cream game is strong there!
Other than the signature Sea Salt flavor, they change two seasonal soft ice cream flavors every two weeks. The flavors available were coffee and grape along with the signature sea salt flavor, the soft serve ice cream was so soooo good, extremely smooth, soft, creamy and rich, our favorite flavors definitely is the sea salt, it has this kind of addictive sweet salty flavor combination.
