Marutama Ra-men is one of the authentic restaurants ramen originated from Japan. At this moment you can find Marutama in Plaza Sentral Senayan 1 and Plaza Indonesia.
Marutama specializes in authentic Japanese ramen with chicken based broth named Tori Paitan soup, 100% real chicken-based broth freshly cooked everyday for around 5 hours to produce a thick rich soup with no MSG. For noodle, Marutama uses Hakata style homemade noodle to maintain the quality of their product.
One of the must have items in their ramen is Tamago or half boiled seasoned egg, the egg topping is seasoned thoroughly with special soy-based seasoning with soft melting texture in the middle and apparently it has won an award as “The Best Tamago”, other than that Gyoza and Chicken Karaage are another popular side dishes at Marutama.
Besides the all time favorite menu, in 2016 Marutama has launched various new dishes from side dish, main course till dessert. Let’s see how it tastes.
Before tasting the new dishes, AnakJajan had a hands-on cooking class first where we learned how to make and cook Gyoza and Tamagoyaki or Japanese omelette. It was a fun experience and it turned out that both dishes were very easy to make thanks to the detailed explanation from the chef, gonna try to make it at home next time.

Marutama Ra-Men with mild spicy ground pork charsiew and tamago. It was a savory and comforting bowl of ramen with hint of spicy taste from the spicy ground pork charsiew. Specially for the noodle texture, you can request the noodle with katama (hard) or yawame (soft) texture.
Ichigo (Matcha) Parfait IDR 28k
For a satisfying sweet ending, Ichigo (Matcha) Parfait is a must order. Japanese parfait with layers of matcha jelly, matcha cream, strawberry compote and matcha ice cream. The dessert was really delicious, all of the ingredients complemented each other perfectly resulting a well-balanced dessert, the best part from this dessert was the matcha cream, it’s cleverly made from sweet & sour yoghurt with matcha to give the dessert a nice refreshing taste, love it!
Overall, visiting Marutama Ra-men is always a good idea, their authentic Japanese ramen is definitely one of the best in town. Let’s Jajan!
