Originated from China, Xiaolongbao is a famous dumpling dish that people usually call Soup Dumpling since you can slurp pipping hot soup from inside the dumpling. The cooking process requires great technique since they need to keep the skin elastic so it won’t break when served. In Jakarta, one of the famous places for Xiaolongbao is none other than Din Tai Fung. For holiday season, Din Tai Fung launched several seasonal menu including the GIANT XIAO LONG BAO that got me excited!!

The GIGANTIC dumpling is available in limited quantities only until 8th January 2017, you can find it at Din Tai Fung’s outlet in Mall of Indonesia, Plaza Senayan, Taman Anggrek and Emporium Pluit.

Fried Rice with Pork Chop IDR 68k
Other than xiaolongbao, Din Tai Fung serves plenty of Chinese dishes including this one our favorite. Fried rice with delightful wok-fry aroma served with uber juicy and tender pork chop. Dayum!

Xiao Long Bao Pork IDR 58k (6pcs)
All time fav classic xiaolongbao filled with minced pork. The best way to enjoy xiaolongbao is by dip it into soy, vinegar and ginger mixture, put it in soup spoon, poke a small hole, slurp the broth and eat it.

Giant Xiao Long Bao IDR 48k
As you can see from the picture, compared to the normal xiaolongbao, this one is definitely GIGANTIC! For this dish, they provide straw so we can slurp the broth. Check our youtube video above for closer look at the menu.

The best part from this giant xiaolongbao would be the comforting broth that is full of umami, but on the other side, there wasn’t much filling inside the dumpling and the skin was thicker than the normal ones, but still it was a unique eating experience by taking xiaolongbao to the next level.
