It always feels good to wake up in a relaxing environment especially when we’re in Bali, after having a relaxing stay at the luscious green Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Ubud, AnakJajan continued our stay at Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay, a luxurious all-villa property in extensive 14 hectares land with magnificent Jimbaran beach and ocean view.
Compared to Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, the vibe in Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay is totally different in a good way. Here in Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay we were spoiled by blue ocean and sky view in traditional Balinese village concept of architecture, it’s such an amazing work of art.
Premier Ocean Villa Pool and Bale
Consists of 147 villas, the villas here have private stone walled courtyard and separate thatched-roof pavilions with strong traditional Balinese village vibes. AnakJajan stayed at the newly renovated Premier Ocean Villa Pool and Bale.
Surrounded by lush green gardens the villa comes with infinity pool, indoor and outdoor bathroom, antique bathtub, indoor and outdoor living/ dining area, poolside bale and also uber comfy bed with luxury linens. It’s such an amazing yet relaxing sanctuary with maximum privacy with one of the best ocean views in Bali.
To start the day, AnakJajan had breakfast at Taman Wantilan restaurant with interesting open-air Balinese pavilion concept complemented by ocean view. For breakfast, the restaurant offers the food in buffet style with classic Western and Indonesian favorites.
Being able to enjoy breakfast accompanied by traditional Balinese music, sea breeze, the sound of birds singing was such a pure bliss
During our first night, AnakJajan had to stay up late to finish some works, so while working, we ordered some dishes from In-Villa Dining service to satisfy our hungry tummies. The In-Villa Dining service is available from early morning 6 to 11 AM for breakfast, all-day dining from 11 AM to 10 PM and overnight dining from 10 PM till 6 AM. Since we were craving for traditional Indonesian food, we ordered Nasi ‘Nasi Goreng Kampung’ complete with Prawn Fried Rice, Dried Anchovies Satay and Fried Egg, and also ‘Soto Ayam’ with Glass Noodles, Sprouts, Lime and Fried Garlic in comforting chicken broth.
Sundara – Dinner
On our first night, me and Mr. Jajan enjoyed sunset cocktails followed by dinner at beachfront Sundara restaurant with modern Asian inspired cuisine.
The restaurant has an unique relaxing beach club vibes with indoor and outdoor areas facing wonderful beach view of Jimbaran beach.
AnakJajan ordered a few of small plates and cocktail desserts to share. For dinner, the menu can be served in individual portion or huge portion for sharing, the hot and cold dishes are available in three options of portion, Small IDR 120k, Medium IDR 260k and Large IDR 440k, and for sweet dessert Small IDR 90k, Medium 150k and Large IDR 280k. Love the fact that we can get the dish in small portion so we can try more dishes in one meal time.
For starter, AnakJajan had Red Snapper Carpaccio with pomelo-vanilla dressing and local herbs and Tuna Chirashi with tempura crumb, kimchi mayo, seasoned rice. While for main, we had Grilled River Prawns with dabu-dabu, pomelo, urutan crumbs and cream, Crispy Five Spiced Quail with pear kimchi and burnt orange mayo, Thai Style Pork Ribs with nam prik pla sauce, BBQ Pork Belly with char siew sauce, Vietnamese salad and crispy pork cracker. Then for dessert, we chose Mixo dessert, Tira Tini with tiramisu, vodka, kahlua, cocoa liquor and Xocolat Cake with valrhona chocolate mousse, vodka, coconut liquor toasted macadamia.
To be honest, AnakJajan were quite impressed with the modern Asian dishes at Sundara, the taste was exquisite with great seasoning and nice modern twist, ingredients were fresh and well executed.Out of all delicious dishes we had, the most memorable one for us would be Tuna Chirashi with playful texture combination, and the Thai Style Pork Ribs was also amazing with all those nice sweet tangy savory flavors being absorbed nicely, grilled to perfection with nice caramelization and fall of the bone texture, it was irresistibly good!
Sundara – Bali’s Longest Brunch
For AnakJajan, weekend is all about food indulgence and we were very excited to try Sundara’s Sunday Brunch. The Sunday Brunch costs IDR 525k per person with unlimited a la carte menu, it’s available every Sunday for 6 hours from 11 AM till 5 PM, the longest brunch in Bali indeed.
Still in modern Asian inspired cuisine concept, the brunch menu is available in tapas served a la carte style, so we can try as many dishes as possible in small tapas portion.
Me and Mr. Jajan went crazy and ordered so many dishes from cold, hot and sweet selection such as Tiger Prawn with mint, lime leaf, nam prik pow, Panko Egg with bbq eggplant, moroccan dressing, Quinoa Goreng with kale, egg white, tofu, sprouts, Sate Lilit Ayam with snake fruit, chili sweet soy sauce, Lombok Oyster Tempura with wasabi mayo, sea grapes, Torched Foie Gras with nashi pear, rujak dressing, cacao, Purple Taro Ice Cream with Mini Choux Puff and Burgery or Peanut Ice Coffee Burger, etc.
All dishes were very pleasant and palatable with nice kick of Asian flavor and unique modern twist. The most memorable one would be the Quinoa Goreng, it tastes like Indonesian fried rice dish complete with the amazing wok-fry aroma, only they change the rice with quinoa. We must say, Sunday Brunch in Sundara is one of the best Sunday brunch we’ve ever had!
Tour De Force
One of the unique experience that you can find only in Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay is Tour De Force, a mystery dining culinary tour where we can experience range of cuisine in 4 course dinner at 4 different venues around the resort in the most romantic way.
When they say unforgettable, the Tour De Force experience is indeed unforgettable!
To start the tour, we were picked up by the staff from our villa to the first venue with picturesque ocean front table to enjoy Indonesian tapas while watching the sunset, Tongkol Saus Rujak, Ayam Pelalah and Gegecok Sayur.
After that, we were escorted to Balinese style Taman Wantilan for Western entree, we chose Seared Scallop with beef short rib tortelini that tasted superb and Jimbaran Seafood Pot Au Feu.
After that, we moved to the third venue Sundara for for Modern Asian dish where each of us had 1 Medium and 1 Small dishes, Char Grilled Grain Fed Stock Yard Rib-Eye, Cauliflower Pakora, Braised Pork Ribs and Pan Roasted Black Cod. This venue was my personal favorite because they set the table at the beach right in front of the ocean with candles, sooo romantic isn’t it??
Then for finale, we had sweet dessert in our private villa with pretty table setting using candles and rose petals. AnakJajan simply cannot believe eating tour can be taken to such a fun yet romantic level. Food was amazing, the setting was very romantic. It was such a unique, romantic yet magical way to enjoy dinner, it made us feel like newlywed again.
Overall, once again Four Seasons did an amazing job with their amazing hospitality. AnakJajan felt relax throughout our stay in Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay and also had happy tummies all the time, it was an amazing yet memorable getaway. Thank you for the unforgettable precious moments.
