Hello Sahabat Jajan!! As seen on our Instagram: @ANAKJAJAN recently, we’re happy to share our new tasty finding, a humble eatery in Pesanggrahan-Kembangan Puri, West Jakarta area, Nasi Gandul Bu Endang Khas Kota Pati Jateng.
Specializing in Central Javanese cuisine from Pati city, Nasi Gandul Bu Endang is just a simple humble eatery serving unpretentious dishes like Nasi Gudeg, Tahu Gimbal, Nasi Gandul, Nasi Rawon, Mangut, Bakmi Jawa, Babat Gongso, Garang Asem, etc.
After returning from our #AnakJajanKOREA trip recently, me and Mr. Jajan crave for Indonesian food most of the time and after doing a deep search on the internet, we found this gem and decided to visit for a quick lunch.
It’s located right beside little ubud in Pesanggrahan street. You can simply spot the eatery from the white humble banner.
Tempe Goreng IDR 3k/ piece
A MUST have!! The deep fried tempe looks sooo simple yet it tastes sooo yummy with just the right amount of seasoning, highly addictive!

On the table, there are a few selection of side dishes such as Perkedel IDR 4k, Tempe Bacem IDR 3k, Bakwan IDR 3k, Telur Asin (Salted Egg) IDR 6k to complement the food. The tempe bacem is seriously a legit one, fully marinated and extremely flavorful.

Nasi Gandul IDR 25k
Originated from Pati, Central Java, Nasi Gandul consists of rice drenched in meat stew in thick brown gravy, served over banana leaf.

The beef was very tender with the brown gravy fully absorbed into it, then the gravy was savory and sweet in a subtle way. It was a very comfortable and yummy dish.
To make it even better, Salted Egg and Perkedel (potato cake) are simply great addition to the already yummy Nasi Gandul.
Nasi Ayam Semarang IDR 26k
The mixed rice consists of festive toppings, braised chayote, shredded chicken cooked in coconutmilk-based seasoning, ‘pindang’ egg, chili sauce and braised tofu topped with fried shallots. It was a simple and humble dish with full of flavors but most of the toppings were a tad too sweet for my liking though.

A few days after our visit, AnakJajan decided to order delivery via GoFood, we tried the Nasi Goreng Babat and Garang Asem Ayam, the garang asem was way too sweet for our liking while Nasi Goreng Babat is uber satisfying with nice wok fry aroma.
Overall, Nasi Gandul Bu Endang serves just simple dishes that appeal to everyone especially the ones with sweet palates, the taste is certainly authentic and legit. If you love Central Javanese cuisines, the dishes here are certainly going to bring back the good memories. Let’s Jajan!!
