CIKNIC ROAST CHICKEN – Dharmawangsa, Jakarta

Introducing our favorite finding in Dharmawangsa, South Jakarta area, Ciknic Roast Chicken.

Ciknic Roast Chicken is a humble homey restaurant specializing in roast chicken dishes, the restaurant previously located in Kemang area has moved to new location in Dharmawangsa area.

During AnakJajan’s visit, the restaurant was fully packed with customers, which is a promising sign for a restaurant (yay!). Besides the roast chicken, Ciknic also offers various dishes like; salad, rice bowl, burger, dessert, etc and all of the menu come in pretty affordable price (double yay!).

Smashed Avocado Crostini IDR 35k
For starter, there are a few options, AnakJajan opted for the Smashed Avocado Crostini, it consists of wheat bread, avocado, bocconcini, and cherry tomato. It was enjoyable and nice to have, soft smooth and creamy altogether.

Fritto Misto IDR 35k
For deep fried food lovers, you can try this simple dish with deep fried battered squid and zucchini served with tartar sauce.

Roast Chicken – Quarter IDR 42k/ Half IDR 74k/ Whole IDR 138k
Now let’s talk about the signature dish, basically there are 3 options of serving that you can get, quarter with one free side dish, half with two side dishes, or whole with four free side dishes.

For the side dishes, there are 5 options, Ciknic Rice IDR 12k, Sauteed Potato IDR 12k, Mix Green Salad IDR 12k, Creamy Spinach IDR 12k, and Herb Fries IDR 12k.

AnakJajan opted for the Whole Chicken with Ciknic Rice, Sauteed Potato, Mix Green Salad, and Creamy Spinach. AnakJajan got to say that the roast chicken game in Ciknic is strong!! It was nicely roasted with extremely juicy tender texture, even the chicken breast was moist! As for the seasoning, the chicken was nicely seasoned with all of the seasoning fully absorbed into it, the addition of gravy sauce gave the chicken an extra savory taste, making it more delicious. MUST TRY!!

Swedish Hash IDR 45k
Swedish Hash consists of meatballs, sauteed potato, and soft boiled egg over white steamed rice. This one was DA BOMB!! The combination between creamy soft boiled egg, meaty savory meatballs, savory potato was very delightful, sooo tasty you won’t be able to stop after the first spoonful.

Caramelized Chicken IDR 40k
Another yummy dish, the simple looking dish consists of butter rice and caramelized chicken. The chicken was very flavorful and bold in seasoning with strong hint of spices and grilled aroma. Both items (chicken and rice) were complementing each other nicely.

Chocolate Mousse IDR 35k
Rich in chocolate flavor, not overly sweet and very light, it was delightful and enjoyable till the last spoon.

Ice Cream Bun IDR 35k
Fried mantao or bun with homemade salted egg yolk ice cream. Yes!! You heard it right, SALTED EGG YOLK ICE CREAM!! The salted egg yolk ice cream was very smooth and rich with delightful sweet salty flavor combination and without any unpleasant smell, it goes really well with fluffy fried bun as well. OMG!! This sweet dish is simply a MUST TRY!

Overall, Ciknic seriously got AnakJajan surprised, they are doing a great job in serving delicious dishes. Great flavors, affordable price, double thumbs up for Ciknic.
