Located on the 3rd floor of Plaza Indonesia, Senju offers Japanese Omakase, Teppanyaki, as well as great range of Sake. The restaurant has a great cozy modern vibes combined with Japanese mural drawing and open kitchen.
The restaurant offers great range of Japanese dishes from noodle, sashimi, sushi, teppanyaki, donburi, and also omakase. Here are some of the signature dishes that AnakJajan tried:
Started with warm assorted mushroom soup dish, the soup has a unique presentation served in Japanese teapot. First we pour and enjoy the soup, then we open the lid and enjoy the mushroom inside. The soup was very comforting with great clean umami taste thanks to the use of various mushroom in it.
Salmon Belly Aburi with Foie Gras Sushi
This has gotta be the highlight of our meal in Senju, their aburi sushi is very unique, instead of using blowtorch, they use heated metal stick to grill the salmon. Both salmon belly and foie gras melt in the mouth easily, it was INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS with nice grill aroma.
Beef Sukiyaki Aburi Sushi
Torched US prime sirloin with sushi rice, the beef was very tender and fully seasoned with savory and subtle sweet taste typical Sukiyaki seasoning, it goes really well with sushi rice. Dayum!
Mixed Rolled Spicy Sauce Sushi
Out of 3 sushi items we had, this one was our number 1 favorite, the taste was sooo good we simply cannot forget about it. The sushi roll consists of prawn, kani crab, scallop, enoki and butter sauce, all ingredients are complimenting each other perfectly with savory taste but not overly creamy, just nice!
Sansokodon IDR 120k
Please note that the photo for Sansokodon was not the real portion, it’s just sample portion since we were having several dishes during the food tasting, normal portion is much bigger. The rice bowl is topped with ikura and chopped unagi + salmon. It was fresh and delightful.
US Prime Sirloin Teppanyaki IDR 200k/ 100gr
Out of many specialty dishes, their Teppanyaki is simply a must have. The best part from teppanyaki other than eating it is the cooking process, we always love how entertaining the cooking process is, it’s fun to watch. AnakJajan had their US Prime Sirloin Teppanyaki, the meat was tender and nicely seasoned with salt and pepper, for extra flavor kick they serve it with 3 condiments; spicy sauce, soy sauce, and garlic flakes.
Norwegian Salmon Teppanyaki IDR 60k
Flaming Greentea Ice Cream with Cotton Candy IDR 60k
For sweet ending, we had their newest menu, green tea ice cream cake with cotton canty poured with flame pouring of Sambuca. It’s fun to watch.
Overall, double thumbs up for Senju Omakase & Sake, great range of menu, amazing food quality, also nice interactive presentation/ cooking process.
