YAKINIKUYA All You Can Eat – DHARMAWANGSA, Jakarta

Yakinikuya Tokyo BBQ restaurant is a gem hidden in Dharmawangsa Square, South Jakarta serving Japanese yakiniku BBQ both a la carte and also All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE).

Yakinikuya has been open for quite a while, it’s the sister restaurant of Takemori. AnakJajan’s first encounter was in 2014 and we remember it clearly the BBQ was da bomb! There were a la carte menu back then, but now Yakinikuya also offers AYCE packages.

Located in the basement area, it does give us Japanese vibes, like visiting local restaurant in Japan complete with Japanese style entrance door.

As the name suggests, Yakiniku is the restaurant’s specialty and it’s available both a la carte or AYCE.

If you followed @ANAKJAJAN Instagram stories recently, you must have known that we decided to have a low key Valentine’s day date, instead of having romantic fancy dinner, we chose an AYCE BBQ to spend our time together, after all the best way to make us happy is from our tummies.

Terms & Condition:
– Minimum of 2 person for AYCE
– Everyone at the same table has to get same AYCE package
– 50% for children under 120cm or elderly above 70 years old
– For dine-in only
– They will charge you for any leftover food
– Lunch price is valid on weekday only (except public holiday)

Since me and Mr. Jajan both are such a glutton, we chose the Ultima package, so basically we are eligible to order anything from the AYCE selection. FYI, drink is not included in AYCE package.

They use charcoal grill here and of course it infuses the meat with irresistible smoky flavor.

For side order, rice dishes and soup are included in the AYCE package, so we ordered Karubi Soup, the soup was more on the sweet side, a tad too sweet for our liking with subtle spicy taste.

Most of the meat we ordered are lightly seasoned with yakiniku sauce and that makes it tasty on its own already, but for extra flavor kick, there are 3 condiments provided, salt & pepper, soy based, and red sauce that somehow reminds us of Korean ssamjang sauce. We got lettuce and kimchi as well to eat it together with BBQ.

AnakJajan ordered quite a lot meat but there are some memorable ones; Loin Steak, Wagyu Saikori, Enoki Beef Roll and Ichibo are uber tasty, tender, juicy, and meaty all together. We personally think that Special package is already satisfying enough.

For gyutan, the Torotan Shio or thick slice of gyutan didn’t meet our expectation, it was very chewy, we suggest you to get Jou Negi Tan or thinly sliced gyutan with spring onions.

From Ultima package, the meat we love the most is the thinly sliced Wagyu Shabu that was soooo tender with melt-in-the-mouth texture.

Overall, great variety of meat with nice quality and considerably reasonable price, AnakJajan gotta say that our AYCE experience was totally worth the money, we left the restaurant with full and happy tummies.
