There’s irresistible charm from Korean BBQ, the charcoal grill, the sizzling meat, the banchan. AnakJajan often ask our friends where is their favorite restaurant for Korean BBQ and Magal has become one of the popular answers, well we couldn’t agree more.

Just a quick intro, Magal is a restaurant chain originated from South Korea specializes in Korean BBQ, with more than 500 outlets worldwide, you can find them in Mall Kelapa Gading 3 Main Lobby area.

What’s your favorite item at Korean BBQ restaurant? Me and Mr. Jajan always love nicely marinated Skirtmeat, the tender meat texture, the beautiful glaze on the meat thanks to the marinate sauce. Ahhh now I start to drool just by thinking about it.

The banchan or side dishes game in Magal is always strong, the fresh vegetables, the kimchi, the pickles, the salad, we always found ourselves enjoying all of them.

This Skirtmeat Combo is just perfect for us since we get to try a few items in one order. AnakJajan had S size which came in generous portion, so generous we think it can feed more than two people. Beside Skirt Combo, they also have other combo like Beef Combo, Pork Combo or Beef & Pork Combo.

The Skirtmeat Combo consists of Beef Skirtmeat + Pork Skirt Meat + Spicy Marinated Pork Skirtmeat + Prawn + Mushroom + Pineapple Short Rib Sushi + Soybean Paste Soup with Beef Brisket.

All of the meat are nicely marinated, so tender and juicy with delightful charred aroma from the charcoal grill. Best enjoyed with kimchi, ssamjang, and lettuce, dayum!

The combo comes with Short Ribs Sushi and Soybean Paste Soup with Beef Brisket with where enjoyable as well.

Gyeran Chuga / Egg Crust (refill) IDR 30k
For complete satisfaction, AnakJajan ordered Gyeran Chuga / Egg Crust too because the savory fluffy steamy hot egg is just too yummy to pass up.

We always love to wrap the BBQ meat with small chunk of Gyeran Chuga, pickles, and ssamjang sauce in lettuce. You’ll get a nice combination of texture and flavor in one bite.

Rice wine or well-known as Makgeolli is a traditional alcohol drink in Korea, it has a light taste, and goes well with any Korean food especially Korean BBQ.

Maeun Kkomjangeo / Hagfish with Spicy Sauce IDR 138,800
This menu caught our attention so we decided to give it a try. So, basically Maeun Kkomjangeo or Hagfish is a kind of fish that looks like an eel. To our surprise, it was good and we enjoyed the texture and lovely spicy grill aroma. The texture is interesting but in a good way, it kinda reminds us of the texture of cartilage.
