GIA is a new Italian restaurant and bar concept by Ismaya Group at Sampoerna Strategic Square Jakarta.
Serving traditional Italian cuisine with modern touch, the casual fine dining restaurant offers menu with pretty reasonable price.
Interior itself is quite charming with simple clean yet sophisticated bright walls, black Italian marble and wooden ceiling. Let’s start talking about the food, I’m sure you cannot wait any longer 🙂
Orzo IDR 95k
barley, aubergine, pomegranate, grilled vegetables salad, evoo, red vinaigrette
The ingredients was too much it made me confuse, but on the other side seasoning was light, tangy and refreshing.
Bottarga IDR 110k
tuna botarga liquine aglio olio, cherry tomatoes, parshley, sicilian crumbs
The seasoning was bold and tasty, I love the cherry tomatoes addition to this dish, it made the whole dish not too heavy and enjoyable. Pasta was perfectly cooked al-dente and you will get a nice crunchy texture in each bite from the sicilian crumbs toppings.
Caserecce IDR 95k
garlic confit, broccolini, spinach, parmesan and chili
Although this dish looked pale, it didn’t taste bland at all, in fact it was seasoned very well and super spicy! I personally enjoyed the strong kick from the bold seasoning. On the other hand, the pasta has a very unique shape I did’t know what type of pasta it was, but it was tasty though.
This black and white complimentary bread was soo good!! Served while it was still hot the black one was filled with melting cheese while the white one was full of onion filling.
Cartoccio IDR 175k
baked barramundi, mussels, olives, tomato, pinot grigio
Fresh baked barramundi with mussels and vegetables. The fish was fresh and not fishy at all. It was okay but didn’t wow me.
Bistecca IDR 340k
250gr char-grilled ‘stockyard’ sirloin, veal jus, gorgonzola polenta, tatsoi
Soooo good!! This steak is a super juicy melts in your mouth kind of steak. It was perfectly grilled and served with rich veal jus. The seasoning would be perfect if they didn’t add truffle oil in it, I personally thought that the truffle oil aroma was a bit too overpowering for the already good char-grilled sirloin and veal jus. On the other side the polenta was not my favorite, a bit too salty from the use of gorgonzola cheese.
Cannoli Siciliani IDR 55k
ricotta cream, hazelnut gelato, popcorn
Hazelnut gelato was tooo die for, so soo good it reminds me of Ferrero Rocher chocolate. The cannoli itself was okay, I didn’t enjoy the ricotta cream.
Tiramisu IDR 60k
Tiramisu was great, very light and balance. It would be perfect it they served it cold.
Overall dining at GIA was quite satisfactory, the food was good, unique and comes with huge size of portion. Let’s Jajan!!
