PEMPEK BELIDA MAS INTERNASIONAL (BMI) – Jakarta

Innovation in food industry is never ending, other than classic delicious items, it’s always exciting to discover and explore new and innovative foods. Pempek Belida Mas (BMI) is one of the example, other than the original classic Palembang style fish cake or Pempek, Pempek BMI also introduced some innovative Pempek with Salted Egg Yolk, Mozarella Cheese and Seaweed flavor.

Located in Kemayoran area, pempek or Palembang style fish cake and Noodle dish are Pempek BMI’s specialty, other than that you can also find Kwetiaw (Flat Rice Noodle) and Bihun (Rice Noodle) dish along with juice, coffee and other drinks with affordable price from IDR 8k to IDR 32k.

Pempek BMI offers wide variety of Pempek from the classic Lenjer, Kulit, Ebi, Adaan, Keriting, Kapal Selam to the innovative Telur Puyuh (Quail Egg filling), Telur Asin (Salted Egg Yolk filling), Seaweed Nori and Mozarella Cheese at the price of IDR 8k for small pempek or IDR 24k – IDR 26k for large pempek.

For the pempek, Pempek BMI uses Belida fish that has better quality compared to Tenggiri fish (mackerel). One thing that we appreciate from Pempek BMI is the way they keep the quality of pempek by using brand new and clean cooking oil for deep frying their food.

Our personal favorite of pempek would be the Salted Egg Yolk Kapal Selam IDR 26k, the egg yolk gave the pempek a nice salty addicting taste.

Mozarella Cheese Pempek was also nice with subtle creamy cheesy taste, while Seaweed Pempek has a unique and different yet nice sea flavor.

Noodle in Pempek BMI is homemade, there are two types of noodle, the yellow original and the new green noodle. AnakJajan tried the green noodle that is made with vegetable extract for its green color (caisim/ choy sum) with special toppings Beef Meatballs (Bakso), Wonton (Pangsit), minced chicken, and veggie.

The noodle was tasty, nicely seasoned, savory with great texture and generous amount of toppings, AnakJajan enjoyed it so much. FYI, for the wonton (pangsit) toppings, it’s freshly made by order.
