HELLO KITTY CAFE – PIK, Jakarta

Attention Hello Kitty Lovers!! The original and Sanrio licensed Hello Kitty Cafe has finally come to Jakarta, Indonesia!!! The cafe is situated in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area. Finally Jakartans can enjoy the official cafe of the cute and popular character from Sanrio, Hello Kitty.

Hello Kitty Cafe is officially opened for public on Wednesday, 18th May 2016, AnakJajan got the special privilege to visit and experience Hello Kitty Cafe before the opening so we can share with you exclusively. Hello Kitty Cafe is located at the same building with Tsubohachi restaurant on the second floor, it is at the same row with The Cup and Tim Ho Wan Pantai Indah Kapuk.

The first word that came to AnakJajan’s minds when we entered the building is KAWAIII!! CUTE CUTE CUTEEE DECOR!! The decor is super pretty and girly without being tacky, instead of the shocking pink color, they used various soft pastel colors to decorate the cafe along with the signature bow shaped decorations. So if you want to drag your boyfriend or husband to this place, they can still enjoy the ambiance.

Quick fact about Hello Kitty, her birthday is on 1st November, place of birth is London and favorite food Mama’s apple pie 🙂

Hello Kitty Cafe serves both light and heavy meal, sweet and savory with price range from IDR 28k to IDR 108k for food and IDR 18k to IDR 98k for drink. AnakJajan tasted so many dishes, I think we tried almost the majority of the signature and recommended dishes.

All of the dishes were plated nicely with extra cuteness for example Hello Kitty Shaped sandwich or waffle, cute little saucer with Hello Kitty’s signature bow shape, etc. Just toooo cute to be eaten right??? The menu book itself was also designed nicely to resemble the shape of window with pink pastel color.

Out of soooo many dishes we tried, we would like to highlight some of me and Mr. Jajan’s favorites.

From the light bites, Bacon Bits Fries were our favorites, nicely fried fries and bacon dipped into special aioli sauce, major love the savory flavorful aioli dipping sauce. The Hot Dog was really nice too, nicely toasted bun with juicy meaty sausage, lettuce, fried egg, sauteed onion and last but not least bacon bits, a very delicious combo!

Nasi Goreng Gila surprisingly was our number one favorite dish, nicely cooked fried rice topped with flavorful savory sweet sauteed chicken, sausage and vegetable typical Indonesia’s signature ‘gila’ topping, the rice dish came with a very pretty and delightful presentation as well, with Hello Kitty shaped fishcake & chili powder and bow shaped carrot.

As for the drink, our personal favorite would be the Watermelon Slush, it was very refreshing with the right amount of sweetness. The Kitty Zilla drink was also very impressive!! GIGANTIC glass of banana milkshake with cotton candy, marshmallow, donut, chocolate and fruit loops, it was not overly sweet and extremely cute & instagenic.

Overall, Hello Kitty Cafe Jakarta is definitely ONE OF THE CUTEST CAFE IN TOWN!! It is delightful both from the decor and the food. A must must visit especially for Hello Kitty Lovers! Let’s Jajan!!
