Time to continue our travel diary in South Korea, this time we’re going to talk about a special place, one of our favorite places to visit on #AnakJajanKOREA trip last autumn, Nami Island (Namiseom 남이섬 종합휴양지) in South Korea.
Nami Island is located around 63km from Seoul, the island is famous for its beautiful tree lined roads. It took us around 90minutes to reach this destination from Myeong-dong, Seoul. Before exploring Nami Island, me and Mr. Jajan visited Petite France first, it is a beautiful French-style theme park located around 30 minutes from Nami Island ferry wharf.
Nami Island is one of the famous desinations in South Korea both for local and international tourists, specially for K-drama lovers, most of you must be familiar with this island since it was being used for the famous television drama series, Winter Sonata starring Bae Yong-joon and Choi Ji-woo.

For complete guide on HOW TO GO TO Nami Island from Seoul, please check the detailed information at the end of this post. After having fun in Petite France, AnakJajan continued our journey, we purchased Nami Island entrance ticket at Nami Island ferry wharf for KRW 8.000/ person for foreigner (admission fee is including ferry ride round trip) then rode the ferry to the island. Please make sure to note the first and last ferry schedule so you won’t miss the ride.
Ferry Schedule:
07:30-09:00 (30 min intervals)
09:00-18:00 (10-20 min intervals)
18:00-21:40 (30 min intervals)
WHAT TO DO IN NAMI ISLAND??
Make sure you have plenty of time to explore the whole island, appreciate the beauty of nature and of course take a lot of pictures 🙂
Me and Mr. Jajan were deeply in love with the natural feeling of the landscape in this island, autumn is definitely the BEST SEASON to visit Nami Island, we went there in early November 2015, the landscape was breathtakingly beautiful you will fall in love instantly with the harmony of yellow, orange, green, red and brown colors from the trees accompanied by the cool autumn breeze.
Inside Nami Island, besides souvenir shops, there are several cafes and restaurants for visitors to eat and rest, one of the most popular and must visit is Seomhyanggi, the famous local Korean BBQ restaurant with self service concept.
AnakJajan ordered one portion of Chicken BBQ KRW 12.000 and Pork BBQ KRW 12.000, both were awesomely delicious, the meat was tender and well marinated, spicy savory seasoning for the chicken while sweet savory for the pork. Mashisoyo!!
After our lunch, we continued our walk to the famous tree lined road and enjoyed the picturesque landscape. FYI, you can also rent bicycle so you won’t get tired from exploring the whole island.
Overall, AnakJajan had an amazing time exploring the beautiful landscape, Nami Island will always have a special place in our hearts. It was a great experience for us and we must say that it is definitely one of the MUST VISIT destinations if you are going to South Korea. Let’s Travel!!

Is Beautiful. May I know when you visit Nami Island? In Nov?
I planning to go Nami Island in early Nov. Hopefully i can get to see the beautiful autumn leaves
Yup. We visited Nami Island in early Nov 2015, I’m sure you can get to see the beautiful autumn leaves too 🙂
Thanks for this! I am going to visit South Korea next month and I am still debating whether I should visit Nami Island or not. But thanks to your post I might just consider it.
By the way, how much do you think I should allot for food? Is KRW10,000 good enough or should I add some more?
Thank you again!
Nami Island is beautiful and worth the visit especially on Autumn or Winter. I don’t think KRW 10k is enough since the chicken BBQ already costs KRW 12k per portion 🙂
Haii boleh tau ga ya bulan apa ya waktu kalian ke korea??
Thanks 🙂
Early november 2015 🙂
Bulan November awal 🙂
Great reviews and photos. Argh, I wanted to go to Nami Island now. 😀
how long its take to nami island by train
Please read the blogpost above for the info.
Should I visist Petite France first then Nami later or converse? I’m planning to visit S.Korea in this Oct.
I strongly recommend you to visit petite france first then nami later for the rest of the day since nami island is very big it requires more time to explore 🙂
Hai, mau tanya. Setiap station ganti train?
HOW TO GO to Nami Island (Gapyeong Station) by train from Myeong-dong Station” diatas, rute kembalinya pun sama saja 🙂

Hi any hotel recommendation for Seoul?
Kita bisa rekomendasikan untuk menginap di area Myeong-dong atau Hongdae, untuk hotelnya bisa cek sendiri menyesuaikan dengan budget dan availability hotel 🙂
