Sichuan Palace offers wide variety of authentic Sichuan style dishes along with Chinese shabu-shabu. Most of the ingredients at Sichuan Palace are imported in order to maintain the consistency and authenticity of Sichuan flavors, the chefs are also native Chinese that are specialize in Sichuan cuisine.

A while ago, AnakJajan and friend had a spontaneous visit to Sichuan Palace for dinner since it was raining and we thought that spicy mala shabu-shabu would be a great idea and it was definitely a great decision. The moment we stepped into the restaurant, we can tell that our dinner would be awesome from the appetizing spices aroma spread throughout the restaurant. Recently AnakJajan visited Sichuan Palace again for the second time to try more of their dishes, let’s take a look.

This dish is a must order, it’s one of the best selling dishes here you can almost every table has this dish. Deep fried chicken until crunchy stir-fried with dried chili, spring onion and peanut. The chicken was really crunchy and savory, it was so addictive, even though it is covered with lots of dried chili, it’s actually not too spicy.

Silky smooth tofu cooked with warm minced beef and chili oil seasoning. It was a very comforting, smooth and enjoyable dish.

Major love for this dish, deep fried corn covered with salted egg yolk seasoning. The corn was sweet and crunchy and seasoned thoroughly with salty rich salted egg yolk, so soooo addictive!! Let me tell you my secret combo, pair the corn with Spicy Braised Tofu together for amazing explosion of flavors.

AnakJajan were never a big fan of lamb dishes but this one got us hooked!! The lamb was so sooooo tender and nicely seasoned with delightful aroma of spices. Crazily good seriously!

Fresh fish deep fried until golden and then cooked in the signature Mala seasoning with various ingredients such as tofu, mushroom, lotus root, beansprout. The mala seasoning is spicy and hot but is more likely to hot and warm sensation instead of burning, it’s great to warm our body especially in cold rainy season.

Lobsters cooked in mala sauce, onion and thin slices of potato. The lobster came in a huge portion, it was sweet, fresh and really suitable with the hot mala seasoning.

Chinese Shabu-Shabu in Sichuan Palace is one of our favorite shabu-shabu in town with aromatic and full of spices broth and wide variety of ingredients from seafood, meat, vegetables, tofu, dumplings, noodle, meatballs, mushroom and egg.

Specially for the Shabu-Shabu, Sichuan Palace offers a la carte Shabu-Shabu along with All You Can Eat Shabu-Shabu every weekday (exclude weekend and public holiday) IDR 198k++ per person with 2hours of seating time and minimum of 2 persons in one table.

There are 5 types of broth in Sichuan Palace, Mala or hot & spicy IDR 88k, Xiang La IDR 88k, Chicken ID 78k, Chicken Herbal IDR 88k and Combination (Half & Half) IDR 88k. AnakJajan’s personal favorite would be the signature Mala and Chicken Herbal. The mala broth is seriously good stuff! Full of spices and mala peppercorn with lots of chili oil typical Sichuan style, for less spicy and less oily broth you can try the Xiang La broth. While Chicken Herbal is more comfortable with rich and deep flavor of chicken plus pleasing herbal aroma.

For ingredients, as I said earlier, Sichuan Palace offers wide variety of shabu-shabu ingredients with price range from IDR 10k to IDR 238k, price might be a lil bit high but the portion is generous and the quality of ingredients is great AnakJajan must say.

Please note that some of the shabu-shabu ingredients were served in sampler portion so we can show you more variety of their dishes. The a la carte portion of each ingredients come in generous portion. The beef and pork meatballs are highly recommended, really love the bouncy texture, it goes really well with the broth. The homemade dumplings are also must try, so yummy with tender meaty filling and soft skin.

This one was also my favorite ingredient, the prawns were so soooo sweet and tasty since they use live prawn. For condiments, as you can see from the picture below, there are lots of condiments available for customer to mix according to their preference, from spicy, savory to nutty condiments, they have it all here.

Beancurd is always a great idea for shabu-shabu since it can absorb the flavor from the broth nicely. Here in Sichuan Palace you can find this unique looking sweet potato noodle, when it’s boiled the noodle will look transparent with delightful soft chewy texture.

Overall, Sichuan Palace offers great tasting of authentic Sichuan dishes with amazing flavors and great quality of ingredients. AnakJajan enjoyed both the Sichuan shabu-shabu and dishes at Sichuan Palace so much, we always left the restaurant with happy tummies.
