THE KINGDOM BUFFET & SHABU-SHABU – PIK

Combining Korean cuisine with buffet concept, The Kingdom offers all you can eat buffet and shabu-shabu in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area.

The newly opened restaurant is located right next to Yoshinoya Pantai Indah Kapuk with a huge spacious building consists of two floors. For all you can eat, the restaurant offers various dishes from appetizer, main courses, bbq, sushi, salad, bread, soft serve ice cream, etc in in buffet style. The price for buffet is IDR 99k lunch & IDR 129k dinner for weekday, IDR 149k lunch/ dinner for weekend for 90 minutes.

Please note that Shabu-Shabu is no longer available in all you can eat concept, instead now they offer Shabu-Shabu in a la carte portion with 7 options, Nabe Shabu: Beef IDR 69k, Pork IDR 65k, Seafood IDR 79k and Fishball IDR 69k with two options of broth, spicy or non spicy, and also three other options of Nabe: Spicy Pork IDR 69k, Bulgogi IDR 69k and Yukgaejang IDR 65k per portion (non-refill).

The best spot to sit in the restaurant is on the second floor since the buffet is located on the second floor, it would be very troublesome to sit on the first floor and climb up & down the stairs every time you want to get your meal from the buffet.

Water and tea are included in the buffet, but there are few options of drink that you can order with additional charge. The restaurant claims that they have around 60 kinds of food, AnakJajan didn’t have the time to count but the food options were plentiful.

From our observation, the food here mostly are Korean cuisine, you can find wide variety of Korean dishes here such as Japchae, Tteokbokki, Chicken Dakgalbi, Pajeon, Kimchi, etc all you can eat in unlimited portion. Most of the dishes were cooked and seasoned nicely, spicy enough, sweet enough and savory enough. There are few options of western dishes too such as pasta, pizza, potato wedges gratin, but we didn’t try it since we were more interested with other dishes.

Beef and pork BBQ station is definitely our favorite, the chef will grill beef or pork based on your order, both meat were tender and nicely grilled with pleasant aroma, specially for pork they will drizzle it with sweet sauce.

For additional, AnakJajan ordered Spicy Pork Nabe IDR 69k and Yukgaejang Nabe IDR 65k, the spicy pork nabe tasted like spicy pork stew with thick and rich seasoning, while Yukgaejang Nabe was spicy beef soup dish with sweet potato noodle, vegetable, egg and thin slices of beef. Both were pretty enjoyable and very spicy.

Overall, the food were surprisingly pretty enjoyable for buffet level, price is pretty worth especially if you love Korean food. AnakJajan highly recommend you to visit on weekday since it is packed with customers on weekend and it gets soooooo noisy, remember to sit on second floor so it’s easier to reach the buffet area.
