The Dutch Jakarta located in 18 Parc Place Tower E, SCBD is a modern gastro pub by Union Group offers elevated comfort food and great selection of beers on tap.
Despite the name, The Dutch, it is not a Dutch cuisine specialty place, the name itself was inspired by their head chef Chris Moes, a Dutch chef living and working in Jakarta.
The gastro pub features wide selection of alcohol drinks and beers on tap as you can see from the bar area and also open kitchen so the customer can sit while looking at the chefs preparing their orders. The food menu available here are International comfort food along with some Dutch inspired dishes where the chef lets the main ingredients to shine in each dish.
Dam Nutty IDR 140k
Dark rum, coconut, hazelnut liqueur, housemade orgeat syrup, angostura bitters, lime
One Metre Beer IDR 300k
Beer on tap is one of The Dutch’s specialty where they have 8 selections of beers for their customer and they have recently launched One Metre Beer where they serve 8 types of beer in one serving, yes you heard me right, 8 glasses of beers in one serving featuring all the beers they have on tap!!
Lemon Lime & Bitters IDR 45k // Iced Coffee Jelly IDR 45k
Chicken Liver Pate IDR 85k
For starter, AnakJajan had their chicken liver pate served with blueberry compote, pickles and toasted focaccia. Personally, we’ve never been a fan of chicken liver pate, but this one was nice, the blueberry compote gave the chicken liver a nice sweet and tangy flavors.
The Dutch Sausage Platter IDR 300k
One of The Dutch’s signature items is their homemade sausage, the sausages here are made with natural casing and then slow smoked and this sausage platter is one of the new items here where you can taste all the tasty sausages in one serving rookworst, chorizo, lamb merguez, chicken sausage and cornichons with mustard, chilli sauce and pickles.
Braised Lamb Baked in Puff Pastry IDR 190k
If you’re looking at a great lamb dish, this one is definitely a must try! The lamb was braised till incredibly soft tender with flaky buttery puff pastry and served with edamame beans, smoked mashed potatoes and beef jus, even Mr. Jajan a non lamb dish lover enjoyed this dish so much.
Beef Succade IDR 160k
Dutch style braised beef with rich flavor, it was savory with subtle sweet flavors and sooo tender. Love that they serve it with hotspot or traditional Dutch mashed potatoes with carrots and onion.
Spiced Pork Belly IDR 135k
Spiced pork belly with amazing chargrilled aroma, the honey mustard dressing was a great addition to give the dish a great balance of flavors, only we felt kinda guilty eating it since it was full of thick layers of fat.
Chocolate Orange Molten Cake IDR 60k
The molten cake was cooked nicely with runny filling, it was rich and warm with hint of orange citrus taste to balance the richness of dark chocolate taste. The fresh strawberry ice cream and spiced blueberry sauce gave the molten cake a nice fruity sweet and sour kick.
Poffertjes Nutella and Banana IDR 45k
Huge fan of this dish, soft fluffy warm poffertjes or traditional Dutch pancake served with caramelized banana and lots of nutella, couldn’t ask for more cos it was YUM!!
Speculaas Toast IDR 65k
We’re sucker for anything speculaas so we just couldn’t say to this Speculaas Toast served with cinnamon ice cream, crumble, Dutch rum raisin, grilled apple and candied orange. It was a sweet and awesome dish to end our meal, soft fluffy, creamy, crunchy and moist altogether.
Overall, loving all the signature and new dishes, great quality, amazing flavors, great selections of drinks, The Dutch is definitely one of the hottest gastro pub in town. Let’s Jajan!!
