LA MAISON JAKARTA – Grand Indonesia

From Medan to Jakarta, big congrats to La Maison Patisserie for the opening of new outlet in Jalarta. As we all know, La Maison is famous patisserie from Medan that is well known for their well crafted Macaron creations. The pop up store in Jakarta recently has been a huge success and now they have opened a permanent store in Grand Indonesia East Mall UG Floor next to H&M.

The decor of the shop is modern and chic with playful combination of marble and pink color. The shop has a few of seating area to let customers sit and enjoy their cakes/ macarons with cup of coffee or tea. Judging from the layout of the shop, AnakJajan think that the shop focuses more on take out than dine in.

Then for the menu, of course Macaron is their main product with around 15 flavors available during our visit being showcased in front of the store. You can get the macaron both for dine in or take away, each Macaron costs IDR 20k per piece.

One of the interesting factors from La Maison’s Macaron is the flavor selection, you can find mostly unique and innovatively yummy flavors such as Milo Milkshake, Salted Egg Yolk, Salted Popcorn, Nutella, etc

AnakJajan opted for Toast, Thai Milk Tea, Watermelon, Salted Egg Yolk, Salted Popcorn and Ispahan (lychee, rose, raspberry). Out of all flavors, the Salted Popcorn, Thai Milk Tea and Toast stand out the most, great texture as well, crunchy on the outside while moist goey on the inside.

Besides macaron, La Maison also offers plenty selections of mini and whole cakes with uber pretty looking design. AnakJajan simply cannot miss the chance to try some so we opted for Chloe IDR 50k and Mademoiselle IDR 50k

Cappuccino IDR 38k
To accompany all the sweets, coffee is always a great option and the good news is coffee in La Maison Jakarta is supported by Common Grounds Jakarta. Yay!!

Chloe IDR 50k
This pretty looking cake consists of lemon curd, toasted coconut meringue, lemon chiffon cake, fresh fruits and flowers, and the taste was delightfully yummy with playful combination of sweet and tangy flavors.

Mademoiselle IDR 50k
This cake immediately caught our attention since it resembles Black Star Pastry’s Lychee Watermelon Cake so we just have to try it. The cake consist of almond meringue sponge cake, vanilla bean chantilly cream, fresh watermelon, strawberries and rose petals. The cake tasted decent but below our expectations, we personally think that it needs something to complement the creamy nutty cream and light fresh watermelon.

Overall, the opening of La Maison Patisserie in Jakarta is certainly an exciting addition to Jakarta’s food scene especially for sweet lovers. Let’s Jajan!!
