Finally AnakJajan had a chance to revisit Jjang Korean Noodle & Grill restaurant, following the first outlet in Wolter Monginsidi, South Jakarta, Jjang Korean Noodle & Grill has opened the second outlet in Gading Serpong area which is a good news for Tangerang citizen.
Jjang Korean Noodle & Grill is one of a few Korean restaurants in town that serves No Pork and No Lard dishes so it’s more Moslem friendly and can be enjoyed by everyone.
The restaurant serves wide variety of Korean dishes from BBQ, Jajangmyeon, Bibimbap, Jjigae, Kimbap, etc with pretty reasonable price. Compared to our visit two years ago, AnakJajan can see that now there have added some new menu.
Since AnakJajan were in the mood of huge sharing portion, AnakJajan opted for Dak Gal Bi IDR 135k and Budae Jjigae Seafood IDR 189k. Let’s take a closer look at both dishes.
Dak Gal Bi IDR 135k
A killer combination that never goes wrong! Stir fried marinated chicken, tteok/ rice cakes, vegetables and noodle in spicy gochujang-based sauce topped with generous amount of melted cheese, Chicken Dak Gal Bi.
Chicken was tender with the spicy seasoning that was fully absorbed into it. The seasoning was very well balanced, savory, sweet and spicy, the fieriness kicked almost in every bite. It was very spicy but still in the enjoyable level thanks to the addition of melted cheese on top.
Jjang’s version of Dak Gal Bi is incredibly yummy!! In fact, AnakJajan must say that it’s one of THE BEST IN TOWN!!
Budae Jjigae Seafood IDR 189k + Egg IDR 9k
One of the popular dishes at Jjang is Budae Jjigae, or Korean stew with various ingredients. For seafood version, the Budae Jjigae consists of prawns, mussels, fish cakes, squid, rice cakes, ramyun noodle and vegetables. To make it even more festive, you can also order additional extra topping for extra pleasure.
Everything looked so fresh and inviting, since the ingredients were already very generous, AnakJajan only opted for additional Egg IDR 9k.
This dish is perfect for sharing for around 4 people since the portion is huge, the soup was very bold in taste and packed with seafood flavor. It was a well made jjigae dish indeed, very delicious!
Fyi, besides seafood version, the Budae Jjigae here is also available in meat version with festive beef and chicken toppings (sausage, smoked meat, salami, bratwurst, etc).
Kimchi IDR 49k/ bottle (330gr)
As seen on our Instagram Story, Jjang now also sells homemade Kimchi in bottle so now you can conveniently add kimchi to any home cook dish at home just like us, we always love to add Kimchi to our Korean ramyun noodle at home.
The kimchi is fresh and crunchy in the beginning but if you like your kimchi to be more sour, you can keep it in the fridge for longer fermentation.
Overall, AnakJajan honestly must say that compared to our experience two years ago, the taste of Jjang’s food has improved A LOT!! It’s getting better, tastier and more addictive. Mashisoyo!!
