Yay for another new coffee shop in West Jakarta, Puri Kembangan area, Calibrate Coffee. Following the trend of third wave coffee, lots of new coffee shops with hip trendy concept are popping up, what do you think about is Sahabat Jajan?

Me and Mr. Jajan are enjoying it, first because it’s getting easier to get our caffeine fix, second is now we have more option for hangout.

Living in Jakarta, there are not many options for hangout with friends, usually we end up in cafe, restaurant or mall and now hanging out in coffee shop has become a regular activity since most of the new coffee shops have a cozy vibes so we can sit there comfortably chatting with our friends while sipping cup of coffee.

Not to mention many coffee shops are competing each other in decorating their shop with hip trendy yet instagenic/ instagrammable decor and creating their own unique signature drink.

Calibrate Coffee is one of many new coffee shops located at Puri Kembangan street on 2nd floor, during our visit on weekend afternoon, the new coffee shop was packed with customers, from teenager, young adults and even aunties and uncles were sitting comfortably there.

The coffee shop has a hip modern decor with cement floor and walls, it offers various espresso based coffee drinks hot and cold along with plentiful choices of hot and cold non coffee drinks with price ranging from IDR 20 to 55k. To accompany the drink, they have a few of pastries selection including Canele from Sophie Authentic if I’m not mistaken.

Magic IDR 35k
Magic is totally Mr. Jajan’s preference with stronger coffee and less milky, it consists of steamed milk poured over double ristretto. AnakJajan were given 3 options of beans and we chose the Brazil one if I’m not mistaken for more earthy and less fruity taste. It was nicely made and quite enjoyable but not memorable though.

Choco Orange IDR 35k
I opted for this non coffee drink since the combination between chocolate and orange sounds interesting. The ice drink turned out to be enjoyable just the way I imagined, light chocolate milk drink with refreshing citrus after taste.

Overall, there are two things that AnakJajan like from this coffee shop, the spacious parking area and also roomy space between seats. Nice coffee, cozy spacious space, we can see why it’s packed with customers.
