SENSORY LAB – JAKARTA, Indonesia

Another new spot for brunch and coffee in PIK Avenue Mall, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), from Australia to Jakarta, Sensory Lab Jakarta. Not long after the opening of first outlet in Kelapa Gading, Sensory Lab joins the crowd in Pantai Indah Kapuk by opening the 2nd outlet in PIK Avenue.

Located on the ground floor of PIK Avenue Mall, Sensory Lab has a clean, simple, modern and minimalist decor concept with considering quite large seating capacity for a coffee shop.

During AnakJajan’s visit on weekend, this place was packed with customers, they offer espresso based and filter coffee with price ranging from IDR 30k to IDR 150k for coffee, other than that non coffee drinks such as Tea by Jing, Fresh Juice, etc are also available. As for the food, Sensory Lab serves typical Australian brunch dishes as well as a few light bites from IDR 25k to IDR 80k.

Cappuccino IDR 39k & Cold Black IDR 42k
For the coffee, AnakJajan had Cold Black and Cappuccino, the black cold brew was enjoyable, but sadly our hot cappuccino was way too watery, it was kinda sad though☹️ we wonder if we were just out of luck and got the bad one.

Spam Fries IDR 55k
It was served as the menu description suggested, fried pork spam, hand cut potato fries served with chipotle mayo but we were surprised to find that there were only 5 pieces of spam, LOL😅
Well, the taste was decent, crispy nicely fried with creamy tangy dipping sauce, enjoyable but it lacks of wow factor.

The Fri-Ken Benedict IDR 75k
For brunch menu, AnakJajan opted for The Fri-Ken Benedict since it looks tempting with fried chicken, poached eggs, chipotle hollandaise on toasted buttery brioche and luckily it was a great choice! The chicken was uber crispy on the outside with nice golden color while savory juicy tender inside, then the runny egg yolk and hollandaise gives the dish an extra creamy taste and moisture, love it!
