As fun as visiting all the famous touristy spots such as Nami Island, Namsan Tower, Myeong-dong, etc, Yongma Land offers a different and unique experience.
Visiting Yongma Land feels like we travel back to the 1980s with all the nostalgic amusement park rides such as bumper car, viking, merry-go-round, etc. You can basically explore the whole amusement park as much and as creative as you want, as long you don’t break the properties
If you’re a true K-pop/drama/show lovers, you might notice this unique looking place since it has been used by so many K-Pop Idols such as EXO, IU, Crayon Pop, etc. The iconic Bar Bar Bar video clip by Crayon Pop was taken at Yongma Land as well.
ENTRANCE FEE, HOW TO GO THERE
Yongma Land is located at the outskirt area of Seoul, around 30mins of train ride from city center to Mangu Station Exit 1.
The distance between Mangu Station Exit 1 to Yongma Land is approximately 1.7KM, you can either walk for 30mins or ride taxi for 7mins (± KRW 3,000), AnakJajan personally recommend you to ride taxi, simply mention Yongma Land or show this writing to the driver: YONGMA LAND (용마랜드), they will know immediately.
As abandoned as it looks, there is entrance fee for Yongma Land, KRW 5,000 per person. You simply have to pay the entrance fee to the park keeper or owner at the entrance, but since the owner is not always standby there, you might need to call him if you cannot find him at the entrance.
To avoid expensive roaming call, you can add his number 01096716104, and then contact him via LINE Call/Chat😉📞☎️ Also don’t worry, you don’t need to speak in Korean, simply mention “YONGMA LAND” on the phone call, the owner will immediately understand and come to you at the entrance.😁
Getting the whole whole amusement park (almost) for yourself?? That’s definitely a YAY!
You might question what to do in this abandoned amusement park, it is actually very fun to walk, explore around since it’s not crowded and of course getting yourself unique instagrammable photos without getting photobombed.
So many couples are having their Pre-Wedding photoshoot here too. The owner even provide selfie stick and tripod rental.
We highly recommend you to prepare drink and some snacks since there are no food/drink sold here.
The amusement park is surrounded by hills, we can imagine how beautiful the views are with all those autumn leaves, there are also cherry blossom trees around the park as well, unfortunately it wasn’t bloom yet during our visit an the 2nd week of April 2017.
One of our most favorite shots is the one in front of merry-go-round with our reflection in a puddle, you know what? The owner deliberately put puddle in front of the merry-go-round complete with clean carpet in front so we can sit comfortably to take the best photo angle. He will water the puddle every few hours, a small gesture, but it says a lot. Gomawo sajangnim❤️❤️❤️😊
Every time we travel, it’s always fun to explore new places that offer unique and different experience. AnakJajan gotta say that our visit to Yongma Land is certainly memorable, we got the whole park almost for ourselves, we had fun nostalgic times there.If you happen to visit Seoul (and if you love taking pictures), Yongma Land is a MUST VISIT!!
