Flower Dome is a cool-dry indooor conservatory with various exotic plants from around the world. Basically there are nine different gardens with different themes around the world. Any flora enthusiast would love it here!
It’s listed as Largest Glass Greenhouse in the world in 2015 Guinness World Records. Replicating the cool and dry Mediterranean climate, that explains the nice temperature inside ranging from 23 to 25°C.
Lucky us during our visit, there’s on going Poinsettia Wishes from 10 Nov 2017 to 8 Jan 2018 with special Christmas edition Nordic Christmas Village with beautiful poinsettia flowers.
So, other than the permanent gardens, they have decorated the garden with festive Christmas ornaments, especially in the middle area, that’s seriously a plus point for visitors!
Upon entering, we were greeted by cozy looking Santa’s Reading Cabin, it makes a great photo spot.
Make sure to prepare enough time to walk and explore Flower Dome since it’s very spacious.
In the middle area, you can see Santa’s Post Office with letters from around the world. Next to it, there’s gift factory with a few of Nutcrackers guarding it.
When you leave the Flower Dome, make sure to get the revisit stamp so you can go back when lights are turned on for enchanting glow at night.
Located right next to Flower Dome, there’s the famous Cloud Forest, one of the key attractions in Gardens by the Bay.
Upon entering, you will be awed by the tall mountain-like forest. The temperature inside Cloud Forest remains cool but compared to the dry-cool Flower Dome, Cloud Forest has a cool-moist surroundings with world’s tallest indoor waterfall at 35 meters man-made mountain.
Inside Cloud Forest, expect to see diverse tropical plants like ferns, orchids, and pitcher plants.
There are two mist-filled walking bridges called Cloud Walk and Treetop Walk located up high surrounding the Cloud Forest.
The annual Christmas Wonderland is finally back from 1st to 26th December 2017. As the name suggest, AnakJajan gotta admit that Christmas Wonderland is seriously magical. You’ll get a nice Christmas holiday vibes at the outdoor event.
Christmas Wonderland consists of light sculptures, festive performances, carnival rides and Christmas market.
Make sure to check the weather forecast before visiting since it’s situated at the outdoor area under Supertree Grove.
The most iconic part of Christmas Wonderland has gotta be the Luminaire Light Sculptures. It’s made from 252,000 multi-hued bulbs with intricate details that transform the whole area into magical wonderland. At Christmas Wonderland, there are 2 major attractions that you simply cannot miss!!
Garden Rhapsody Christmas Edition which is an entertaining light show. The lights from Supertrees will follow the rhythm of Christmas tunes. It happens twice a day, 19.45-20.00 and 20.45-21.00.
Then Blizzard Time for ‘snow’ raining experience at the tallest luminaire, the Spalleira. It happens 5 times a day; 18.50-18.55, 19.55-20.00, 20.55-09.00, 22.00-22.05, and 22.30-22.35. Even though the snow is made from bubble foam, but it surely felt sooo magical!
Well, AnakJajan gotta admit that Gardens by the Bay is an interesting place to visit and the best month to be there is certainly on December! Don’t miss the magical place if you happen to visit Singapore on December!
